I got this for my grand daughter for her Christmas present. She hasn't seen it quite yet, but I was so pleased at the way she is made and with the different ways you can dress her up with the clothes she is wearing. I got this for my 4 year old niece. She absolutely loved it. She played for hours with her 9 year old sister and 6 year old brother. It kept them entertained. They all had a great time and there was many things to keep each of them busy.

The things we didnt like about it...a lot of the pieces dont sit in place, they tip over or do not hook to the toy. The steps wont stay on, the large screen tv tips over, the mouse wont stay in the cake.

FLIMSY! My daughter has lots of Polly Pocket playsets that are better quality than this. The wall is made of cardboard, not plastic. The only good thing is that it comes with many cute little accessories but you are better off buying one of the less expensive playsets. My 5 yr old daughter stopped playing with it because the dolls don't really fit in the house. She said it herself, this house is junk.

My daughter love Polly Pocket. We purchased this because it came with a lot of pieces for the price. It took forever for me to put it together and it is cheap plastic and cardboard. The stairs won't stay in place, the mouse won't stay in the cake (scotch taped it) and the fridge, stove, tv tip over very easy so I taped those things to the house as well. Polly doesn't fit in the tub or the bed. My daugther ends up using the potty for her Strawberry Shortcake house, and the others pieces with other doll houses because she can't really use this house. I would keep looking for something else unless you find this cheap.

My daughter loves the American Girl book series, so I wanted to find a reasonably priced doll for her from the series. She was delighted, of course. However, I neglected to pay close attention to the size of the doll. Instead of being one that is just large enough for her to play with (even though she has tried), it has become more of a 'collector's item' display. The doll is beautifully made, but the book (VERY tiny w/ tiny print) and doll both seem to be meant for display only.

This toy was much more fun than I expected. It was one of the surprise hits this Christmas. The dolls have many joints so they "flip" around the bar very well. There are many different ways to connect them and it is not too difficult for my 8 year old to do by herself.

I purchased this item on sale for about twelve dollars. I'm not sure it's worth more than twenty or so, though. It is difficult to attach the dolls by their knees. Also, the dolls are pretty much only useful for this purpose since they are so jointed. They aren't very useful in regular play.

Still, overall I think this is a really fun toy.

My neice and I got a kick out of this toy on Christmas, though maybe not for the right reasons. It is a fun toy but after a while the basic stuff got kind of boring for my 5 year old neice. So, she started seeing how easy it was to get the dolls to kick each other in the face using the device. Not in a violent way, of course, just kind of funny. We also found out ways you could connect the two dolls together to create a continuous loop. She played with it for hours, giggling hysterically all the while.

I imagine the toll will break within months because even as we were playing on Christmas, some of the components seemed a bit flimsy. Oh, and the dolls are dressed a bit provacatively (come on, a g-string?) so be sure to talk to the child about play versus reality. I certainly do not want my 5 year old neice trying to dress like these Barbies!!

Would I buy it again? Yes. Would I buy it if I did not have a decent amount of money and could afford buying throw away toys? No.

I first saw these dolls in Target, and thought they were beautiful. However, I didn't want the expense and bother of packaging and taking a box to the post office, so came home to check Amazon, where they offer even a better deal and ship them for you.

I wanted a doll for a child's birthday, and decided to order a second one for her little sister. They love the dolls, and their mom said they'd like to collect them all. These dolls come in a range of lovely skin tones and colorful outfits, perfect for today's children who appreciate diversity, and for families who'd like their children to learn about other cultures. Part of the proceeds, but I have no idea how much, goes to charity. You and your child can read about needs in other parts of the world, a learning opportunity and maybe even the beginning of other volunteer opportunities for your family.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. The quality is comparable to that of a more expensive doll. I wish these had been around when my own girls were young.

Review of Doll Chest

Problems with the product:

The gold hardware arrived broken

One of the screws supplied to adhere the hinge connecting the lid with the chest broke the screw head came detached upon screwing it in place. Couldn't remove the screw and therefore couldn't assemble the product.

SAFETY ISSUE: The hinge that comes with this product has two very sharp points on which a child could easily be injured. They are sharp enough to scratch a child's skin, probably not puncture it but it's hard to tell since my rough adult skin would obviously not be an accurate gauge. The manufacturer provides a felt sticker with adhesive on it that the instructions show one should use (they call it a cotton cushion,) I am assuming, to cover these points which would obviously not prevent injury since all a child would have to do would be to remove the sticker.

I was surprised that I had to assemble the chest, LOL. It is very nice. After putting it together my only wish is that they offer a bigger size chest like it for toys. I would buy it.
