People who believe a doll is bad need help. This doll is an educational toy for children to learn about "where babies come from" and not have to learn from friends or by mistakes. IT IS A DOLL A TOY. Not an X-rated movie. I do not understand why people get so upset about a child's toy. Guns teach children to shoot each other but no one complains about them but let someone come out with a pregnant doll and people go ballistic. I belive it is a wonderful educational doll and girls love to play Mommy with their dolls. What is wrong with that?

My 8 year old daughter absolutely loves this doll! I think its so great that they made a pregnant barbie..it's not like little girls have NEVER seen a pregnant person before, so when people think it's weird I think..are you serious??!! My daughter loves to play "getting ready for the baby" and "bringing baby home from hospital" It teaches her about being a mother someday herself. The only thing is she lost the baby the first time(it's so small) so I had to buy it twice.

This toy is great for teaching children about how babies are born! 100000 stars for educational! Unlike all the innapropriate, messed up barbies and bratz, this acually teaches something. I totally recomend this doll, especially if you have a young child and are going to have another one.

I love that the pregnant Midge is back! The face is different than the Happy Family version and there are no freckles. I am just so happy to see her back. We got the Happy Family version and it really taught my 4 year old about the "facts of life" in a non threatening, age appropriate way. 10 stars for educational value! I did not see if this version still had the wedding ring painted on. There is also a nusery playset, but that one does not have the pregnant Midge.

My 4 year old got this for her 4th birthday and she really loves it.Its a very durable toy,she's been dropped on her head several times and has had her arms and legs bent and twisted many different ways.The doll moves really well when her bracelet is pressed(she does have an off button!) and makes clear sounding,not too loud,not too soft baby noises.But if your child is like mine,she'll want to feed it like 4 times a day to change her diaper after she tinkles(BTW,make sure when said child changes diaper it is on correctly or Baby Alive will tinkle on your carpet.But thank God its only water!).It only comes with 3 diapers.I found refils at Target for $4.00 for a 6 pack.But,jeez,her diapers per week would cost me more $$ than my daughters when she was in diapers!

This doll is really fun. You don't need to spend all that money on diapers. Just buy Pampers or Huggies in the size N for newborn, and that'll work. I haven't tried any of the generic brand newborn diapers, but I would think those would be alright too.

My daughter age 5 asked Santa for a Baby Alive. After looking at the other reviews on both Baby Alive and Baby Alive Wets and Wiggles, I couldn't find any reason not to purchase this baby. Wets and Wiggles is less expensive, makes cuter sounds and has better realistic baby movements. The number one feature that my five year old wanted was a baby that needed it's diapers changed. This doll is perfect for that. You can not go wrong with this one.

As a side note, my 7 year old daughter also asked for Baby Alive. I chose the Sip 'N Slurp for her. Another very affordable baby that can also drink and needs diapers changed. Together, both dolls cost less than one Baby Alive. This is another great idea for parents of two girls that routinely ask for the same thing. Hope this helps!

Juice packs are messy, but water works just as well and doesn't spoil. Diapers are reusable if only water is used, they just need to be put up to dry. These dolls are the one thing the girls are not yet tired of. Great value for the price, too, much less than in stores.

My daughter is 9 and she still plays with this doll. She has two Baby Alive dolls (the other one eats food.) This doll is simpler to handle, which was really good when my daughter was younger; and after about a year she asked for the doll that eats food and poops! I thought this Wet n Wiggles would be left to a dusty corner of the closet, but, no, she takes care of them both. Occasionally, she even laments the difficulties of taking care of two babies (just like a real mommy) but never turns them off. ;)

She named them both and takes good care of them. The dolls have been around for 4 and 3 years, respectively, and I suspect they will be for much longer. I'm crocheting sweaters for them for xmas and buying diapers, per my daughters request.

The Juku Couture dolls are quite different than the standard barbie dolls they are a bit shorter (barely comes up to a barbie's chest) and therefore don't fit into all the barbie clothes out there. But they do fit into Bratz or TinkerBell fashion doll sized clothes and that gives a lot of options. But each Juku couture doll comes with so many little pieces of clothing that it really is easy to mix and match and get all kinds of interesting looks.

Hayley\s outfits are great for sporty girls but otherwise pretty boring compared to her comrades. Her features are also rather vanilla just a blonde with blue eyes and some freckles. The newest editions (2nd edition) now on sale have, in my opinion, nicer features. Hayley must not have sold well on launch because she was heavily redesigned and looks MUCH better in the second edition. So much so that I'd skip the launch edition and just buy the second edition.

The really neat thing about the Juku dolls is the amazing posability of them. They can do so many poses and stand on their own just fine. I've put Juku Couture dolls into head stands, sitting on various objects, even hanging like a monkey from a shelf just for fun. For that reason, I give the Juku dolls much higher marks than most dolls.

I really like that she looks like a teenager the clothes fit the personality well. I've had a chance to buy all the dolls and all the extra outfits and enjoy putting the different variations on these dolls. Jun is my favorite of the line since her looks are so very similar to the very expensive high-end Japanese dolls that cost $200+. And although these dolls don't fit barbie sized doll clothes, they come with so many options with their wardobes that it would be hard to get bored of them. The whole point is to layer everything.

I bought this set for my 3-year-old granddaughter to go along with the Fisher Price Loving Family Twin Time dollhouse and the Caucasian doll set we already have. She is of blended heritage and I want her to see the real world reflected in the toys she plays with. These are slimmer dolls than the older Fisher Price sets made in the early 90's, but they are easy for my granddaughter to manipulate and to make stand up. These have articulated knees unlike the earlier dolls also. We think the hair and faces of these dolls are adorable too. I have not seen these in any store. Getting six dolls and a great teaching tool for this low price is a great value in my book. You can't go wrong here.

I bought this extra family for my niece because I knew she'd have a lot of fun with more people. I'm glad I did because I really like the hair on the mom and girl and the African American baby girl is even cuter than the Caucasion one. The only thing I don't really like is that the boy looks almost the same as the one we already have, just a different skin color. It would have been nice to at least get a different number on his jersey. I don't think this bothers the kids though. Overall, I think these people are very cute and I'm glad I got them.

My daughter loved to play with African American dolls for a change. The only problem is that these dolls are not for the Loving Family Sweet Sounds Dollhouse. The Sweetsounds dollhouse dolls (the Caucasian ones) all have hearts on their back to activate the different sounds in the house...the African Americans do not. So, if you want to have Black dolls this is fine but its not for the Sweet Sounds Dollhouse.

Thank God the doll was for my daughter because the box was crushed so bad the plastic was off and the doll wasn't even attached to the wires and the mini doll was floating around. I also noticed that her ring is broken. This doll was meant for a collection but oh we'll we just put out for display without the box.

Ok. So, when i was searching for a doll to get my daughter, and i saw this one. In the picture given, her hair is beautiful. Well, that picture was misleading. when my daughter opened her Christmas present, she made a face. Her hair was matted and rough. Also, when she tried to comb her hair, it just wouldn't go through! I don't understand why they would make such a doll!

So I get a gift card for my daughter and the first thing she does is ask me to get her Carrie. So we look at the picture and it shows her with beautiful hair. When it came it was as shown in the picture, but after one brush through and putting the hair up the dolls hair was completely destroyed. Now she wants Ashby to replace her... I'm still debating if I should get it for her or not. Also I know this will sound weird, but MGA is making the dolls more realistic. Their waists are bigger not like a twig anymore. My only concern witht the body is the bust size :) Happy Shopping!(I wouldn't recommend this item)

I first saw these dolls in Target, and thought they were beautiful. However, I didn't want the expense and bother of packaging and taking a box to the post office, so came home to check Amazon, where they offer even a better deal and ship them for you.

I wanted a doll for a child's birthday, and decided to order a second one for her little sister. They love the dolls, and their mom said they'd like to collect them all. These dolls come in a range of lovely skin tones and colorful outfits, perfect for today's children who appreciate diversity, and for families who'd like their children to learn about other cultures. Part of the proceeds, but I have no idea how much, goes to charity. You and your child can read about needs in other parts of the world, a learning opportunity and maybe even the beginning of other volunteer opportunities for your family.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. The quality is comparable to that of a more expensive doll. I wish these had been around when my own girls were young.

My daughter received this for a birthday gift and was thrilled when she saw the box. However, after taking the pieces out and putting them together, and putting them together, and then putting them together AGAIN, she lost all interest in it. She loves the 2 cats from the movie and was most excited they were included. The wedding arch falls apart if you look at it wrong.

I would not spend my money on this unless you intend to sit there with your child and reconstruct the thing every time she moves.

this was a christmas present and it continues to fall apart. the archways do not stay on them. too expensive for what you really get. i ended up putting most of it away except for the center cake piece and the cats. I would not buy it.

My daughter got this for Christmas and she was so excited for us to open it. It is the most flimsy and cheap toy. It will not stay together or stand up. The only durable parts of the toy are the wedding cake and the cats. Please, do not waste your money on this toy.

Because the size is larger, you can see the craftsmanship, and it is pleasing and atrractive. These do not have hanging threads or missing limbs. I have the Guatemalan dolls delivered to my 7 year grandson and I haven't actually seen them. I purchased them because my grandson and I read a story about a little boy, like him, who worried a lot about everything. When he got the dolls he called me to tell me that every night he tells his worries to the dolls and goes to sleep. I think I am getting the dolls for my 5 year granddaughter who recently entered kindergarten and has had trouble adjusting. I think the dolls can be a comfort to little worried children.

They are indeed 2 in tall! Awesome. It said it came with a story it was more like a slip that is stuffed in a fortune cookie. The dolls are adorable. They are wiry and hard. They are beige/tan not pale like in the photo. Glad that was accurate lol They are ethnic after all! I thought they would be a bit squishy and soft. Overall they are well made. The arms are like a hard paper mache/cardboard. The dolls and box are more vibrant in the photo than in person. The box is mediocre quality not bright and sturdy in appearance as in the photo. But it's what is inside that counts!
