Like all little girls, the commercial for this item sold her. I was leery to buy it because of the price, but gave in for Christmas. Well, it exceeded my worst fears. The stamps don't work at all, just a glob of dye on the hair, and it is so very messy. The hair dye stains your fingers and clean up is a nightmare. On top of that, the dolls clothes get dyed. There is no good way to 'play' with this doll. Its complete work and mess. Not fun for me or my daughter since I ended up making her play with it on the kitchen floor then had her take a bath afterwards. The commercial is a big lie.

My 6 yr old daughter loves the long hair on this doll, but the hair stamp thing doesn't work at all. She used the paints to color her hair (it doesn't completely wash out, but mostly... and she didn't care her hair had a pink tinge-lol). Just go in knowing that you are paying for the doll, the hair stamper is worthless, went in the trash the day after she got the doll becasue it just frustrated her. She does still adore the "long hair doll" however.

My 7 year old daughter loves this doll. The stamping tool is not very easy to use. I tried it myself and had some trouble with it. It doesn't turn out like the pictures show. Also the colored gel stuff is messy, especially if you don't stamp it correctly. But all in all, she has fun with it and loves her long hair. The doll is really cute too.

I bought this for my 5year old who used the colors on her blonde hair. The purple washed right out HOWEVER the pink has yet to come out and its been almost a MONTH!!!! DO NOT put this in your kids hair even though it says you are able to.

I got it for my daughter because she loves zebra pattern. it looks really pretty but the material is thin. It's doesn't hold dolls in place and it's hard to get them inside. After they're in it's wobbly and you need to make adjustments to keep them inside. I'll have to buy American Girl bag now. Wasted my money on that one.

Unfortunately the historic collection of American Girl dolls seems to be being discontinued one by one. I wanted one for my grandaughter whose mother is Swedish. I had to pay more by searching online but it was worth it. The seller was quick and we exchanged several pleasant e-mails. Most of all, my Grandaughter was overwhelmed with the doll and we had fun searching for clothes online for Kirsten..also more expensive but at least available!

I had this doll as a little girl in the early 90's. The early edition of this doll (first generation) was spectacular in quality. The first generation is the one in the first photograph, most definitely. The doll in the second and other photographs are the second generation doll. Study them. You can see a complete difference in quality, not only of the hair but of the eyes also. Please be aware when buying. Perhaps you prefer the looks of the first generation doll, perhaps you prefer the looks of the second. Its up to you. However, be very careful as the doll is now discontinued in both generations and more expensive than a new gaming console. Ask the seller for pictures, maybe, to see if it is the right doll. The seller may not even know if they have first or second generation if they did not buy it directly from The Pleasant Company in the correct year.

When the hair is taken out of the braids, it gets a very nice wavy, soft straw-like texture very quickly.It does not stay smooth. You can spray it with a water bottle for easy styling. There is a lovely amount of thick hair on this doll, perhaps going to her waist or more. You can truly do anything you want with the hair. I spent hours making elaborate hairstyles as a child with it :) But be warned, its pretty hard to get it back to the original hairstyle.

The dress is not as plain looking as in the photograph. The blue is more vibrant, but subdued at the same time. The patterns on the dress really jump out at you nicely. The apron is made out of a nice material, feeling like a real apron. The boots are faux leather and stand up to years of playing with.

The first generation doll, at least, is real quality. I had the doll since I was maybe 5 until I stopped playing with her as a teen. She still looked great, her clothes still looked brand new despite. Her eyes never scratched, the paint never did either. She never lost her huggablity, her soft body staying intact.

She is definitely worth the $350+ price based on only her playable worth. To look at on top of, she is worth even more. Then you take in her educational value potential, and she is worth yet more. Especially for a child. You will save all the money you spend on her by not buying Barbies upon breakable Barbies and such, plus she may get your child interested in history! And you can read her books with your child, too!

Over all, a great doll (and book series!). Other super quality dolls with first generations in the American Girl line include Samantha, Molly, Felicity, Addy, and Josephina. The first generations are no longer available through the American Girl website, though.

I could not believe that I found this doll! I have been looking all over for her! My daughter was given this doll when she was 9 and for some reason we could not find her, so I wanted to replace it with another. I could not believe it when I found out that Kirsten was retired and that I probably would not find another one or if I did I would spend a bloody fortune for her. I did spend a lot for her but it was well worth it when I saw the smile on my daughter's face. Thank you!

the photos do not show all the great details on this doll her bobbed hair has a sophistication many dolls in the same line have lacked. the jewelry is marvelous and not a repeat of the same jewelry they give us in the past,as it is fabulous white glass that both pays tribute to 60;s fashions and yet is very modern . this dress does not photograph well, you need to see it in real life so you can see the contrast between the lace and the fabric. the lace is bigger and bolder than the lace on the original Plantation Belle outfit, thus updating Barbie for the current era.

Southern Belle Barbie is beautiful and very well detailed! I love her short layered bob and her delicate white necklace and earrings. My only issue was that the lace pattern used on the full skirt is not in scale and looks cheap. The pale skin tone used on the doll was a nice change also.

I purchased this doll for my (almost) 7 years old daughter and she loves it! I think it's a great value considering that for the price you get a doll, 2 costumes, some toys and a book, (which, by the way, we read together and it's a nice story). I wish the red dress would have been manufactured better (the fabric splits easily at the bottom), but not such a big deal to return it. My daughter takes Lily Anna everywhere with her! I would recommend it!

The extras made this a great value. This doll came with two complete outfits instead of the usual one outfit. Also came with a very nice book. The lemonade pitcher and glasses were cute (even had a tiny slice of lemon for the pitcher). Two pieces of cake with a platter completed the set. The price from Amazon was much cheaper than from another vender which offered the exact same doll set. The only problem is that it takes someone with a knife or scissors a long time to remove the doll and other items from the packaging. But that seems to be a problem with most toys these days.

I searched on-line and in stores for a doll that would be able to placed on one of my grandaughters many horses, for her birthday. I have six grandkids so wanted to find a really nice doll at a reasonable price. Then I found Lily Anna on Amazon. She was delivered quickly and when I took her out of box I fell in love:) She was beautiful, impeccably dressed, had an extra outfit and very well made. I loved the book too that came with her. She has a complete riding outfit, a helmet and fits perfectly on one of the large horses.. My grand daughter's favorite doll. Good quality and the clothes are made well too. Bought this for our 10 year old's birthday. The Command strips are great, we've had no problem with it staying "stuck" to the wall. Assembly was very easy. All the furniture is permanently attached except for the table and chairs and they have suctions cups so they don't fall off. It comes with several different food items to sell in the cafe and comes with a cash register. All the pieces have suction cups on the bottom (including the doll's shoes) so everything sticks to the set and she doesn't have worry about everything falling off and getting lost. She's played with this for hours and loves it. She has two other sets as well and as advertised, none of the pieces are on the floor!

My Granddaughter asked for a Barbie Doll for her Birthday. She has an older & a younger sister.

They seriously have a huge basket of nothing but Barbie Dolls. As the saying goes,

"Share & Share Alike". There are very expensive Barbies in that basket, that have been in the dirt, the bathtub, with clothes & shoes missing. This Grandma was going to get her a Barbie & another expensive gift. When I found this "Fashionista" Line, I was thrilled!!! The price is very low & DID NOT look to be. My Granddaughter was thrilled. This Angelina Ballerina doll is beautifully made and a nice, large size for little girls to bring around. It is of nice quality and even washes well, as we found out after my daughter spilled juice all over her. The only thing I don't like as much are the positioning of the feet. I'm sure they're meant to be in a ballet position, but her left foot actually points too far backwards and looks twisted. This doesn't bother my daughter at all, though.

The outfit is not removable, nor are the shoes or bow. This helps greatly in not losing outfits anywhere around the house, but also limits what a girl can do with her doll. We found that Angelina fits into American Girl doll clothing (not the shoes), but you have to tuck her tutu underneath it. Still, it's another option.

The doll doesn't do anything or say anything, which we're quite happy about. We've had enough of noisy, active toys around here. It's nice to see my daughter using her imagination and talking to Angelina, then making her answer back. Therefore, as far as imaginative play, I'll give it three stars, but this is the type of toy that is meant to be enjoyed, not to be used as a learning tool necessarily.

I shopped around before I bought this Angelina doll and it paid off. She is beautiful, great size, and is made well enough for my very active 3 year old ballerina to dance, toss and play with Angelina as her primary doll since her birthday 4 months ago. Even after all the Christmas toys, Angelina holds the the rank of favorite toy. She looks just like the show, her tutu is well made and beautiful with satin ribbon edging. She has a little trouble sitting up on her own on slippery surfaces, but I think she just needs a little more wearing in. I have not washed her yet, but I think in a lingerie bag on gentle cycle, she will do just fine. Highly recommend. Worth the price.

Bought this dress as a present for my daughter.Though it was missing the"matching Hair Barrett" it still was a nice dress.The Dress is very well made the Kitten in the Basket is really cute.As for the Customer Service regarding the missing hair barrett,they wanted me to return the outfit for a refund.They couldn't replace the missing item and wouldn't replace the outfit. They stated they didn't have an outfit to replace it with even though on their site they claimed to have 2 left to sell.Happy with Dress. Not so much with their Customer Service.
