Put this together for Christmas. I wanted to avoid paying $300 for an American Girl branded bed. My little girl loves this and its feel pretty sturdy all things considered. The price was awesome. The blankets, however, are really small. They dont fit over an 18 inch doll. I plan to sew them both together side-by-side, which will work fine. I got another blanket for the 2nd bed. My daughter (6 yo) loves that they come unstacked. The ladder just rests on with little pegs but it doesn't seem to get in the way or fall off too easily. The 18 inch dolls from Target fit pretty snugly in the bed. The head and feet both touch but you dont have to jam them in or anything. The American Girl dolls have about an inch clearance. This was a great deal and its really cute.

We needed beds for 4 18" dolls. We shopped around and decided to chance these bunk beds. We ordered two sets of bunk beds. So, for about 60 bucks we will be sleeping four dolls. The other reviews all seemed positive, except for one, so it was worth the gamble.

We ordered the beds on Tuesday. They arrived on Wednesday. My 9-year old daughter wanted to help put them together. She really was able to wield a screwdriver and we put these together in about a half an hour. The beds are secure and not flimsy. Husband is a high end cabinet maker and I would not describe these as crap...ever. They are not high end, either. But they are nice toy beds. They look great and don't wiggle. Little dowels and strong screws form the joints. The piece that forms the bottom of the bed slides into a routered groove along the side pieces and the edges fit in cleanly. If you were worried about decades of stability, a little wood glue around the joints would do the trick.

Now, I make quilts and I will be doing a bedding overhaul. The mattress is thin but fine. The dolls aren't complaining. The pillows are okay. But, the top sheet is too short. Again, I was going to do a bedding overhaul anyway. Daughter and I went shopping for fabric yesterday and found adorable stuff on sale and we have a plan. So, bedding was never going to be the deal breaker for us. But, if you wanted nice bedding...I think you would be disappointed.

If what you really want is a nice doll bed that offers better than adequate accommodations for your 18" dolls, these beds are a safe bet. Just be prepared to engage your girl in a sewing project to make up for the bedding short fall.

My daughter loved and enjoyed her own Lee Middleton doll so I decided to purchase one for my granddaughter. I was a little disappointed. The picture showed this particular doll with pink clothes but the doll came with pink/blue clothing. I did see however (after I had received the doll) that there is a note stating the doll's outfit may differ from the one shown.....helps to read everything if you have time. Other than the disappointment of the clothing color, the doll looks and feels just like my daughter's doll and it was shipped just days after I ordered.

This doll has the most beautiful little face. Her hair is good quality and can be combed over and over with no tangles. Her dress is waterproof, so if you use the little spray bottle it will not mess up her clothing. You can style her hair so many ways, and my grandaughter has spent so much time playing with this doll. The accessories are all very well made and not easily breakable. The scissors make a cutting noise, but do not cut anything. They are quite well made, and the kids really enjoy pretending they are cutting the doll's hair or sometimes my hair. This is a very nice quality doll and very cuddly for a little girl to have. If I had this when I was a little girl, it would have been a constant companion :)

I received the brunette version of this doll through the Amazon Vine program.

Since my granddaughter is staying with us, she excitedly watched as Grammy opened the box and helped to tackle the job of helping the doll escape from the packaging.

She immediately enjoyed the scissors, spray bottle, and combing the doll's hair. But she was a bit disappointed that it didn't have an on button to do anything special.

While this is a fun toy, I actually purchased a doll with hair that wasn't Baby Alive for a lot less at a discount store. She plays with both equally.

My mom got my daughter the brunette one (Baby Alive Beautiful Now Baby Brunette). My daughter who loves playing with dolls, really likes this. As soon as we got the scissors out, I let her "cut" my hair. It does sounds like real scissors without actually being real scissors. The spray bottle actually sprays water. It comes with 3 different barrettes that actuaklly works. It is a nice size, but not to big. It is just the right size to sit in my daughter's lap while she brushes the hair.

My 8-year-old daughter had a slumber party this year, so one of her gifts was this set for her dolls. She has had a lot of fun with it. The size is just right for an 18" doll.

The bag, pillow, and sleeping bag feel like back pack material and look like they would hold up well. The case is hard plastic with a fabric and Velcro closure. From the picture I didn't expect the nail and hair accessories to fit in that little case but they do. There are two "cd" sleeves with the same disc inside and a hard plastic boom box. The book is cute with ideas for slumber parties, like games. The popcorn is least impressive being a very thin cardboard box that would be lucky to last a few hours. I stuffed it with tissue paper and covered it with clear packing tape to try to get some use out of it. This is a stocking stuffer, so can't say at the moment how well this will work. Overall, it's a cute set that I got for free through a target.com special and probably would have made a sleeping bag and cardboard popcorn myself instead of paying $20 for it.

I purchased this doll as a gift for my daughter. We have two other World Collection dolls (Zoe and Ling) and we like the quality of these dolls. Lulu's face is beautiful, and we really like the idea that each of these dolls has a unique face; in other words, unlike other doll companies, it isn't just the same doll with different colored eyes and hair, with different clothes. The face is actually a different sculpture, making the doll new with each country she represents. Would highly recommend this product.

I bought this doll for my daughter after I saw it in a store. I had a choice of several Kairto dolls, but I was taken with just how beautiful "LuLu" was and I loved that she was also athletic. I knew she was much more economical than an Am. Girl Doll (as are almost all Karito dolls). After purchasing the doll /but before giving her as a x-mas gift I started to worry if my daughter (age 5 1/2) would like her as much as I did. Our family does not share the same ethnic characteristics as Lulu from Kenya and I was wondering what my daughters reaction would be. It turns out that my "Anglo" daughter thought she was beautiful too, and commented on that for the next several days. After we got the doll out of the box I was able to see how well made the doll and the outfit are very good quality. My daughter loves to dress her for daytime and then bedtime,(with extra outfits I bought)-good fine motor skills practice. We are only 1/2 way through the enclosed mystery book, which is not well written, but that is not a big deal to me. We are able to use the doll and her background in other educational ways, not just with the book. (Oh yeah I am not a fan of buying a imaginative play item and then putting a child in front of the internet so we have not explored the website yet.) I am very happy with this purchase, and highly recommend this doll to anyone.

I found the Karito kids on a website by accident, and immediately became very interested. I am a big doll collector, and after 3 years of buying American Girls, I wanted to try something else. These dolls are stunning! I love the fact that their faces are very close to their ethnicity, and that they can wear the American girl clothes because I have so many of them, and the Karito kids outfits are very hard to find. I would definitely recommend these dolls. Haven't read the books yet, but will. Also have Ling from China(?), and she is as wonderful as Lulu.I know this is a newer company, and I believe they didn't realize how popular their dolls would be, because they are rarely in stock and often on back-order. At some point I hope that more outfits and furniture,and accessories become available. Until then, those items I will have to continue to get from American Girl.

The doll is really cute and my daughter loves that she is sparkly and has a crown. She has the most adorable face of the "Barbie" sized dolls. This dress has some great details because the sleeves have little slits just like in the movie. Her hair is really beautiful and holds up well after a lot of play (instead of frizzing up). But note to buyers: You can get this for under $10 at Walmart. If you are one who refuses to shop at the evil Walmart, than I understand. But just know that this doll can be had for a lot less than what Amazon is asking. I imagine other stores have it cheaper as well.

The purple Mermaid Barbie is quite lovely she has a lot of details in her tail and just enough glitter everywhere to look 'magical'. Her hair changes from purple to pink in HOT water. Then back to purple with cold water. In comparison to the other two Barbies mermaids, she has the lightest skin color (the orange mermaid is the most tan).

One of the features I like with this particular series of dolls is that she has a rubber molded area at the top of the fin (at the waist). So when you bend her to sit, you don't see any seams or underwear as with the other Barbies. It's a smart design and really helps keep the illusion. However, the rest of the tail is hard plastic. I must preferred the soft bendable plastic of previous, more expensive Barbie Mermaids.

She is one in a series of 3 that all have the same exact details, face, etc. Only the hair color and the color on the tails/bikini top changes.

Our Barbies have been treated to the pool, bath, and shower. They have held up well without mildew or mold problems. The color change is just slight but doesn't detract from the toy. The end of the mermaid's tail snaps on so I was worried it would come off easily but this hasn't been a problem.
