I am changing my original review. My daughter received this doll for Christmas 2008. The doll was very cute and interactive, but now after not even five months, one of the doll's shoulders is dislocated and the gears sound like they are grinding when she tries to raise her arms. My daughter has played with it off and on since she received it from Santa. It is cute, but not very durable. For this amount of money, I would not purchase it again. I have looked in the owner's manual and online and cannot find any kind of warranty information, so my daughter will have to play with her like all her other dolls. We do still have all of the accessories and the doll can still hold the magnetized items, my daughter is disappointed because "Isabella" sounds sick now.

My orginal review (5 stars):

This doll is very cute and durable. My daughter, 3 1/2, is very active. This doll has stood up well to her play. The doll is also helping her to learn how to be more gentle with smaller "ones." She likes to "feed" the baby, rock her, and take care of her "little sister." The doll is a little loud, but she loves it. At naptime and bedtime, we simply turn the baby off so she can "rest." When naptime is over and when she gets up in the morning she gets to turn the baby back on and take care of her little baby. We are very happy with Santa's purchase.

After reading reviews of similar products, I just couldn't bring myself to purchase a possible "dud," especially considering some of the prices. I took a chance on a product that had not been reviewed and I am SO happy that I did. This product arrived and was easy to assemble. Beautiful design with solid construction. One door had a small chip on the front and the materials were missing 3 screws. I contacted the company and they sent a reply the same day, agreeing to replace the damaged part and send additional screws. Great customer service!

Even with the few missing screws, I was able to put the entire thing together and try it out.

The doll hangers we have been using for the American Girl Doll clothes fit on the bar and the doors close with the hanger on the bar. Nice amount of space inside for clothes and a drawer for accessories. I feel it is exactly as described and I like that it has the height to it, with the drawer on the bottom, yet is wide enough to fit a bunch of outfits/dresses.

I purchased this for my daughter to store her American Girl doll's clothes in. I was hesitant to pay the price, but I am so glad I did. This armoire is like a real piece of furniture. The design is pretty and feminine, perfect for a girl's room.

It took me about 15 minutes to assemble with a screwdriver, and the drawer makes it extra functional. I will be buying more hangers to go with it.

Three pieces came broken in the package. My daughter spent her Christmas gift cards on this and she was so excited we had to glue the pieces back together. For nearly $50 this is not worth it. To top it off only 3/4 of the instructions come printed on the one page instruction booklet. Very very disappointed.

The barbie is cute. My daughter played with it for about 10 minutes and said it was "boring". A button is pressed and the doll sparkles for a few seconds. This may interest a VERY young child. For a seven year old, it gets "boring" quickly. Skip this Barbie and buy one that has a tail fin and legs. That way a child can play dress up and have fun in the tub. Trust me " don't bother" buying this toy. Also, the shipping fee is crazy.

My 8-year-old daughter had a slumber party this year, so one of her gifts was this set for her dolls. She has had a lot of fun with it. The size is just right for an 18" doll.

The bag, pillow, and sleeping bag feel like back pack material and look like they would hold up well. The case is hard plastic with a fabric and Velcro closure. From the picture I didn't expect the nail and hair accessories to fit in that little case but they do. There are two "cd" sleeves with the same disc inside and a hard plastic boom box. The book is cute with ideas for slumber parties, like games. The popcorn is least impressive being a very thin cardboard box that would be lucky to last a few hours. I stuffed it with tissue paper and covered it with clear packing tape to try to get some use out of it. This is a stocking stuffer, so can't say at the moment how well this will work. Overall, it's a cute set that I got for free through a target.com special and probably would have made a sleeping bag and cardboard popcorn myself instead of paying $20 for it.

Purchased this for my potty training two year old. Absolutely adorable! The doll is just your basic doll. The potty is what talks and makes noises and makes it cute. You can actually use the potty with other dolls too. My daughter was amazed the first time she used it. Lots of giggles from the sound effects, even from my four year old.

Some phrases are:

The only reason I didn't rank this five stars is the legs on the doll are difficult for my two year old to bend to sit down. My four year old has no problems bending the legs. We now just keep the doll in her sitting position. Also the lid on the potty fell off 5 minutes after using it and constantly falls off. You can still use the potty without it. Overall good size doll not too big. Would purchase again. Perfect potty training tool. The peeing noise has even made my daughter pee. They should make a boy version too.

Bought this for my two year old daughter. She and my 5 year old son had hours of fun the first day laughing as she "pooped" in the potty. My daughter plays with it every day. She is not ready for potty training but this has helped with the idea. The lid to the potty pops off easily and I've been asked to "fix it" several times a day.

I got this doll for motivation during potty training time. My 24 month old loves it, and has spent a lot of time playing with potty doll over the past week. She has a nice vanilla smell. I wish she was little more anatomically correct. Also, I got the doll as recommended with the potty training in less than a day book, but my husband and I just read the book, and they really recommend a doll that really wets, this one does not. When you set the doll on the potty, it presses the seat down switching the inside of the potty to the pee and poop, and when you flush it flips back to the water. But, I love anything that entertains my daughter, and this is currently a favorite toy.

I purchased this doll for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter to help her "learn" to use the potty. Although we have only had it for a couple of days, she plays with it and shows you (and tells you as well) that the doll has gone potty (poo and pee). I think this is the only doll that "shows" both, which is great because the "poo" part is the hardest to train and if it can be done together, all the better!

What was really cute, is that she also wanted to sit on her potty (which is also pink) and had the dolly sit right next to her so they could potty together! My granddaughter was not "successful herself", but she really tried to go, which was quite impressive! We are hopeful that with this tool, she will get the idea and start using it soon.

I just purchased a second one for another granddaughter who just turned 2, as she has shown an interest in the potty as well.

Highly recommend this potty training doll!

the potty lid does come off easily and the legs of the baby are hard to manipulate as well.

as for potty training, we were already well on the way of potty training. so far it's gotten her more interested in the flusher on the real toilets. maybe also gotten her interested in pulling down her undies before sitting on the potty and going. haven't seen an impact on actual going, but she seems more willing to go pee but not so much poop.

i like how the doll doesn't actually pee. so there is no mess. no problem with the potty talking, etc. so it can work on her other dolls. daughter loves the sippy cup and soap dispenser.

it's just a little strange that the doll has a big hole in her back. my little one points it out and says the baby has an owie. not too much of a big deal but we could go w/o it.

First of all she arrived and my daughter loves her! The outfit is cute and springy and of course well made! My only complaint is her hair! It looks beautiful in the picture..... but it is all frayed on the tips and looks less expensive in my opinion.... not to mention compared to her other madame alexander doll the hair roots are farther apart showing some plastic head in areas which we stopped by putting her hair half up! I did end up cutting off all the tips of this dolls hair, it looks better but not great! All in all my daughter loves her and that is what counts! This doll is beautiful, and while it doesn't quite live up to the standard's of the famous American Girl dolls, neither does it's price tag! The doll is beautiful and will be a wonderful surprise for my daughter, and I won't cringe if she writes on her or accidentally cuts her hair! As she is not careful enough with her toys to merit spending $100 on a doll, I found this to be a suitable and reasonable replacement for an American Girl doll. I had also bought a Madame Alexander poseable doll from Walmart (for $28) which was very pretty, but her skin color made her look like a corpse. When I compared the two dolls, I decided the less expensive one needed to go back to Walmart. Purchased this gift for a present and was very disappointed. If we hadn't already given the doll as a gift, I would have returned it. The doll's face is not the same shown on the web site. My son & daughter noticed immmediately. The eyes do not match up and the right eye is lower than the left. The left eye lashes are not even either. Her bangs are different than shown. All together her face is just not as cute as shown on the web site. It's almost as if we received a cheaper version.

Truthfully, the dolls made in China just don't compare to the German made dolls. I would rather spend more and get better quality than cheap China stuff. With that said, the receiver of our gift doesn't know any better and likes the doll. She never saw the original picture on the web site so doesn't know any better. My daughter who has several German made dolls and Pleasant Company dolls (pre Matel) noticed the cheapness of this doll right away. She is 9 years old and it was very apparent to her. Just so you know what you're getting. We were very disappointed.

Review of Barbie Fashionistas Artsy Doll

So, after a year or so of fashionistas, we're on the 3rd setthe first being the original Cutie, Sassy, Girly, Artsy, Glam, and Wild, with Ken as "Hottie". Not long afterwards came Sporty, Sweetie, Sassy II, and Cutie II. The "BFFS"...Sassy/Sweetie, Glam/Sporty, and the "Shoppin' fashionistas" Sweetie Shops for Jewelry and Sassy shops for makeup were sort of an in-between, a side set of wave 2. Now, these trendy, bendy, sugary dolls have traded in their already scanty clothes for even MORE revealing outfits...oh, and removeable heads, too.

I was disappointed with the Cutie Ken from w3...his "flexibility" was horribly limited. Artsy II is my first in the line of "Swappin' Styles", and she'll probably be my last. Actually, her dress is pretty longit actually comes past mid-thigh. Unfortuneately the fabric they used down there came from her bodice. She shows more cleavage than any Barbie doll I've seen in a long time, and the dress is so loose it slides around showing EVEN MORE. Her boots are not only rather unattractive, but sky high and scream sleaze. As for her removeable head...

A fairly good idea...you can buy spare heads and pop the original off, pop the new one on. Doesn't work perfectly though, since you have to match the skin tones and some dolls are tan, some are paler, some are African American, and so forth. Plus the only real benefit of buying a new $5+ head is for a different hairstyle. Of course, the day I got her, my friend lost her head in the woods. It was fall, so of course we couldn't find it. A few days later I went back out to look and my dog had gotten a hold of it...still useable but it doesn't fit the body anymore, it seems almost as if the plastic has constricted or something.

So, now that I've ranted about the bad side, here's the good side. She came with some pretty cute accessoriesa nice removeable headband (but be forewarned, once the threads are cut, it's never to stay on again. Her purse is simple but sweet. She came with a necklace, too...can't tell for sure what it is, but I'm pretty sure it's a flower. Like I said, her dress is beautiful, but too low cut.

Along with the new set of fashionistas, there's a mini-series on Barbie.com featuring "Six cool girls with fierce, fabulous style" that is not unlike the old MyScene segments. These...are unspeakable. Yes, they supposedly cheer for individuality, but the message they convey is one of superficiality in the extreme. In one episode, Cutie gets a job and this is bemoaned by her and her buds. The reason for her new occupation is because she shopped too much and maxed out daddy's credit cards, now she's in debt. When her boss tells her he's not happy with they way she's doing, he becomes the enemy. "You told me you had experience with lattes!" he says. "Uh, I meant I had experience drinking lattes!" she giggles. That, coupled with Glam's gloating over her silk scarf from Paris and the slinky, low-cut, short getup they wear, I was gagging at the sorry excuse for a kid's miniseries.

I know this is rather long for a review on a doll, but I'm hoping that perhaps we change Mattel's mind. Not only has this idea of slinky, sexy girls waving creds and sipping lattes and dating hot boys taken over the Barbie movies, but dolls and webisodes as well. Disgusting.

The doll is very nice to my little girl loves it, the accessories are cute but not durable toy that can be expected.

The fashionistas are all cute I want to collect them, but actually I bought my daughter, she is very careful, despite his young age (only 5 years old), the hands of the wrist are very fragile but I think my daughter as being is going to last. The only thing I don't like is that the get her lipstick worn, but it was good buy.
