These are cute little dolls, but they could use a little more coloring on them to give them more of a realistic look. They measure 10", not 12" like it says which was pretty disappointing. If I would of known this, I would not have gotten them. They are dressed in cute outfits, and the bed and bedding are very pretty.

This Avery Moxie doll is really sweet and provides a creative outlet for my 5 year-old daughter. The doll's hair style is really cute (my daughter loved that she has braids!)and the outfit is easy to put on and take off. The big draw for this set is that you can use the two included markers to color her clothes and design your own fashion. The clothes can also be washed in the sink with soap & water to remove the color so it can be re-styled many times. 3-D glasses are included to make the colors "pop" but I don't think that they are necessary. Be aware that there are warnings that you must color the clothes when they are OFF the doll: color will bleed onto the skin of the doll and won't wash off legs, torso, etc. I rated this 4/5 stars because it would be more fun to color the clothes while on the doll, and I am not sure how often I will be washing the clothes for another coloring session. Plus, I have a healthy fear that my daughter will end up getting some of the marker color onto the doll anyway. Overall, the doll is adorable and the coloring seems fun but not overly practical.

Even though this said for 3 yes plus, I bought this for my 2 year old niece. She always wants to carry our purses but they are too heavy. This was perfect and she loved it!! It is light, obviously barbie which was a plus and the phone has a bunch of buttons that made noises which was super fun. For $20 I could have put her together a purse with play items better than these.The purse does not look like the one in the picture. It is shaped like a heart so much of it is open. It is almost to small for these things pictured to even fit in it, and it does not close, so she does drop things out of it. My daughter loves this though, and my six year old daughter takes off with the phone. The glasses are cheaper quality than the dollar store, and the cards are paper. I was disappointed that the camera did not make noise or even have a hole you could look through, but the phone is really cute.

If you look at the close ups of this in the Amazon preview window you'll see a lot of little detail items. Each one of those items is a piece in itself! Just taking this out of the package meant pieces flying everywhere. The pieces are small enough that you definitely don't want this around smaller girls with bigger hands they will get very frustrated setting this up. And you'll need to put it in a place that doesn't get knocked over or bumped or you're going to be crying/losing pieces.

The set does feel like decent quality and the extra like a small hand towel that is fabric and hanging from the side shower are a nice touch. The Barbie itself is of decent quality and matches the room decor, of course.

All the pieces to Mattel's Barbie Pink furniture line are adorable and are up to date with today's fashion and design conscience little girls, but wow, talk about all the little pieces that come along with the sets that seriously are a hazard to anyone who has animals in the house. After my daughter is finished playing with her Barbies and setting up house, I have to make sure each and every time that ALL the little pieces are retrieved for the sake of my pups. If it weren't for me worrying about my little dogs, I would rest easier. As a matter of fact, I wish I had so many options with my Barbies back in the 60's. Overall, the furniture is functional and the rooms are glam! She has a lot of fun playing with her Barbies and that's all that matters most.

This set is good value for the money it includes a shower cabin, a vanity and a doll that's much prettier than most dolls that they usually include in this kind of sets. However, everything is really flimsy, you might want to lean the vanity against something sturdy, we leaned ours against the wall and still, everything keeps falling over all the time, especially, all the little pieces the vase, the hair dryer, the lotions and the potions, etc, probably because they are so lightweight, practially, weightless. I loved all those tiny accessories when I first saw them in the box, I thought they'd be a lot of fun for my daughter to play with, but she had nothing but frustration with them at first. Then she just took them off the vanity and put them on the floor next to it because they kept falling off the vanity no matter what you did or didn't do. The Barbie doll has a pretty face, nice hair and a nice set of clothes, but one of her ankles is really crooked...I didn't notice until much later. Still, it's a fun set, I actually bought the entire bundle the bathroom, the house, the dining room, the refrigirator, the bathtub, the sofa...and together they are great, tons of fun and hours of play.

I bought this doll for my 4 year old daughter because she has dark brown hair and blue eyes and that combo is a bit tough to find with other dolls. The doll's face and hair were even more beautiful in person than the picture. Her body was good quality construction and the clothing was cute. I give this doll a 4 star rating because she doesn't sit up on her own very well. I think it's the way the joints are made on the doll. She wants to lean back instead of sitting upright. If she is in a chair or sitting against something, she sits perfectly though. She stands without any support and her limbs and head are a true 360 rotation including up/down, around and side to side. Her eyes open and close and she has nice long lashes. The hair is gorgeous but it tangles really easily and is a little hard to comb out. I found that spraying with downy wrinkle releaser helped it quite a bit though. All in all, a good price for a beautiful doll.

Hindsight is 20/20. I should not have bought this for my 3 (almost 4) year old. The doll is lovely, but the hair is very easy to mess up. A child of this age is just not old enough for a doll like this one. I would recommend buying a cheaper more durable doll for younger children and waiting for a child to be at least 6 (maybe 8 depending on maturity and level of carefulness) for a doll like this one.

1959 Original Teenage Fashion Model Barbie Doll is the best repro of the #1 Barbie to date--but, it's still not a perfect repro. I've deboxed the doll, and so I'm evaluating it from the perspective of a deboxed display doll. The doll is very nice in appearance, and the reproduction of the Solo In The Spotlight fashion is excellent.

The quibbles: The arm molds for the vintage repro dolls are not accurate to the original dolls. The original dolls had divided fingers (index and pinky on the right hand, pinky only on the left hand) and the shapes were different from the reproduction body molds. Also, the #1 Barbie doll (as well as the #2, #3, and #4) reproductions should be manufactured differently from dolls meant to duplicate later dolls. The 'heft' of the doll should be weightier, as the original dolls had solid vinyl torsos and limbs. The skin tone is slightly too pink to be 100% accurate in my opinion as well. The original doll had copper tubing lining the holes in her feet. Obviously the repro doll should not include this feature due to metal oxidation issues, but some sort of metal lining would be a better match than no lining at all. The hair is also not a perfect match to the original, as the #1 Barbie doll had an extremely fine gauge saran hair material, in a distinctive yellow-orange color. This doll's hair is too glossy and too 'ash blonde' in color, and the doll doesn't appear to have the flocking underneath the ponytail that the original doll featured. Also, the hairline is placed too low on the doll's forehead, the original doll had a very high forehead. The face paint is a good likeness, but not 100% perfect. The brows should be slightly darker, and the paint colors are good but not perfect.

No collector is ever going to mistake this doll for the original, but it's still a great doll in its own right. Definitely worth the very reasonable price, and I would encourage anyone interested in vintage Barbie to pick this one up.

This is not a perfect reproduction, it is however, a perfect display model for your vintage fashions. I wouldn't recommend this to collector's (It's being mass produced with the Barbie Pink Label, not worth much to "collect".) but I do recommend it to anyone who wants a decent reproduction to display early clothes.

The only real problem I have with this doll is the super low forehead. The hair should be up super high. The eyes aren't the same either, but I don't own an original #1 Barbie so I'm happy with this one.

In short, if you want a beautiful doll to display vintage fashions, she's your gal!

Mattel Lacking in Product Presentation Holes in Fabric

Why does Mattel insist on poking a hole through every fine fabric costume on collectible dolls with a needle and thread or plastic t-tie?

After the millions of dolls they have sold, could their staff devise a way to keep the doll in the box without having to sew the dress to the box?

If the collector wishes to display the doll outside the box, they must try to carefully remove the thread which still leaves the hole poked through the fabric in front of gown.

Why would someone pay this much money for a doll with a with holes punched through the fabric of the gloves and the pink hankie?

Also, buyers should be aware that the swimsuit top has adhesive underneath to keep it from falling off. Surely after all the years of manufacturing goofs like melt marks and stains, Mattel would have learned not to place an adhesive on the body and surely not next to the fabric.

Madame Alexander a premier doll manufacturer has for years securely fastened their dolls with a simple ribbon or rigid plastic forms. Why can't Mattel do the same?

Mattel is lacking in Quality Control on this issue, and the same with the Elvis and Priscilla Presley Giftset. Three holes are punched through the fabric of Priscilla's dress! Plus, the 1962 Bubblecut Anniversary doll has holes puched through the gown and gloves. Quality Control at Mattel? It is missing!

I did not buy this "toy" for fun, or for educational value, or durability. I bought it to replace my original Barbie doll I had when I was 9 (in 1959) that disappeared when my mother started letting the grandkids play with it. I absolutely love it. This is the Barbie I remember.

Much as I would love to change her clothes and build the wardrobe I had for my original Barbie, I think I will just keep her in the box as she is and no one else will touch her.

Me go down the doll isle.. but when those bright eyes of your daughter say's"Dad I love them".. you do your research and look for them anywhere you can get them.. Monster high I will have to say is better for young girls than say Barbie...They are not about looks and being popular. The dolls and play themes teach that each girl is special in there own way and I think more of our young ladies need to hear that. I am happy to see the Barbie way...GO AWAY...Rock on Monster High.

Cleo is definitely an Egyptian princess in her Halloween ensemble. The Ghouls Rule line was very well done, and Cleo is no exception.

She has a fitted gown with a poofy tulle skirt and high platform shoes with no heel. The ribbon-like strands that hang down over the black tulle skirt are only turquoise on one side; the reverse side is white. Since the fabric of those strands is fairly thin, it turns easily (showing the white) and can be a bit frustrating if you are trying to display her.

Her short hair is styled with a little poof in the back, which looks quite cute. However, short hair on a doll can be difficult. Mine came with her hair sticking straight out on one side. It was easily fixed after a little gel and some styling.

Cleo comes with a handheld mask, a color coordinated pail, and a very ornate punch bowl with ladel and cup. Two snakes wrap under the punch bowl to form its base.

She has very beautiful makeup, but I noticed that the paint may be a bit thin since the whites of her eyes don't look very bright.

I highly reccommend the Ghouls Rule line because they are so beautiful when displayed, and I'm sure they would provide many hours of imaginative play as well!

This is a very beautiful cleo doll. Her hair is mostly black with some streaks of turqoise running throughout. She has a very blunt cut shoulder length bob, with matching blunt cut bangs. In the back, there are two small braids that come from the sides and meet together. Her facepaint is pretty. Her eyes are done in shades of slate blue and gold. Her "face jewel" is also blue. She has a light dusting of gold glitter along her lids and some beautiful intricate kohl liner. Her lips have a base of metallic gold with sprinkles of gold glitter on top of that. Her dress is a long, drop waist style which flares into a full skirt at about hip level. The main bodice of the dress is a metallic gold dot and metallic turqoise "mummy wrap" print. There are sheer gold metallic sleeves with the same turqoise wrap print. The flared skirt part of the dress is mainly black tulle with an overlay of metallic turqoise "mummy wraps". Most of her accessories are fairly simple. She wears a small gold circle bracelet on her right arm, and a thin metallic gold snake bracelet on her left arm. Her earrings are a small gold stud on her left ear, and a curled S shaped snake on her right ear (this earring is actually quite adorable). However, you cannot even see her earring as they are completely covered by her hair. Her facemask is metallic gold, and it has almost a wing shap towards the left right outer edge, with some dangling mummy wraps under the right eye, and the handle is covered in wraps as well. Her best accessory is her cape. It is made of long strips of sheer black fabric with metallic gold "zigzags" going across the black. The cape is held on by a metallic gold plastic snake necklace which loops through the fabric and then curls around Cleo's neck. Absolutely genious!! Her shoes are translucent turqouise platforms with no heel (think lady gaga, platform up front, no heel in back). They have a snake ankle strap, mummy wraps are molded in the actual shoe, and the platform is gold angular pyramids that look really cool. She has a metallic turqoise "treat pail" that has the mummy skullette molded into the front. She also comes with a punchbowl that is turquoise and has two gold snakes, one on either side, curled up to make the base which holds the bowl. How clever. It is filled with purple bubbling punch. There is a punch ladle which is made from a coiled snake with his neck/head being the handle and his tail being the scoop part. Also there is a metallic gold "mummy wrap" molded punch cup filled with same purple punch that is in the bowl. There is even a small scarab molded onto the punch cup. She also comes with a black stand and black brush. The detailing on these dolls is amazing and I think this is one of the better lines that mattel has put out for monster high dolls. I love this doll and I think most monster high fans young or old will too!!

As an adult collector, I found this doll exceptionally well done. There has been so much thought put into the production of these dolls. I bought all four and this was the first. I can't imagine giving one to a small child. These are such beauties that should be cherished as fine collectables. Cleo is a class act!

This girl was given to my 4 year old as a gift. However it is not a toy. My daughter is an only child, and is more careful than most adults I know. She adores this doll. She keeps her in a small Playpen, and carries the play pen around with her. The doll has a cloth body and very realistic feeling skin and hair. The hair on her head is glued on and should not be touched much, to prevent it from falling out. The hair on her arms and legs is put in through little holes. The doll is very heavy for it's size. Much like A real baby.

I saw Umi a few months ago at the Ashton-Drake site and could NOT take my eyes off her. Her half dreamy eyes don't open or close, but as light shifts, you'll swear she changes expression. She has the weight of a real orangutan baby and her arms, legs, and head have that soft crazy hair that wants to do its own thing. If you take her out in public, it's guaranteed she'll get attention. I like the doll house. I spent some time reviewing various choices, until I picked this one. I am fully happy with it, and it is very well made for current standards. It includes furnishings, almost too many. Some of the furnishings are of a lesser quality, but I consider these to be minor defects. In addition to play value, it looks really nice in my daughter's room.

Oh what a great toy! It is simple and easy to transport to Grandmothers house. All the parts are easy to keep track of.
