This girl was given to my 4 year old as a gift. However it is not a toy. My daughter is an only child, and is more careful than most adults I know. She adores this doll. She keeps her in a small Playpen, and carries the play pen around with her. The doll has a cloth body and very realistic feeling skin and hair. The hair on her head is glued on and should not be touched much, to prevent it from falling out. The hair on her arms and legs is put in through little holes. The doll is very heavy for it's size. Much like A real baby.

I saw Umi a few months ago at the Ashton-Drake site and could NOT take my eyes off her. Her half dreamy eyes don't open or close, but as light shifts, you'll swear she changes expression. She has the weight of a real orangutan baby and her arms, legs, and head have that soft crazy hair that wants to do its own thing. If you take her out in public, it's guaranteed she'll get attention. DO NOT GIVE THIS DOLL TO A YOUNG CHILD THIS DOLL IS NOT DURABLE!! This is NOT a doll for play; she is for the collector who wants to poke a little fun.

My Daughter wanted this doll for a year, and when she got Umi for her 10th B-Day she was extatic! My Daughter wants to be a Vet when she grows up, so this was a perfect Doll for her! Umi needs care in that she is not made for rough play, she is made to be loved and taken care of. Fabulous Doll for teaching nurturing skills! Love this Doll! She will pull at the heart strings of anyone who looks at her!

First of all this doll is not a toy, she is a little work of art. She looks so real that some of my friends prefer not to hold her! She has the weight & feel of a real baby. I am very impressed!

Umi was purchased for our 5 year old daughter! Obviously, this is a collectible doll but my daughter loves her! She is built just as well as any other doll! Her hair does fall out and it does not change her appearance whatsoever! I think Umi is the cutest of the oragutan babies sold! We have all 3!
