The doll was/is a hit because the kiddo loves Disney's Belle. The "music" is not a full song and can be startling if you aren't expecting her to burst into song! She is a nice size, especially for small hands -easy to grasp and manipulate.

Barbie A Fashion Fairytale Flairies Glim'R Doll Reviews

These flairies from the Barbie movie are good quality and bear a decent resemblance to the fairies in the Barbie A Fashion Fairytale movie. This doll, Glimm'R, was the most prominent of the 3; along with Shim'R and Shine'E they made the dresses in the Barbie movie glitter. Shine'E and Shim'R had their own moments in the movie but of the three, it was Glim'R who had the most attention since she was having trouble making her magic work and the other two helped her out.

If you are trying to decide which of the Flairies to get, I would recommend this doll, Glim'R, first since she had a larger part in the movie. She also looks most like the character from the movie. Otherwise, for the price, might as well get the three.

The quality of the doll is good and they are surprisingly large (not to scale) in comparison to the Barbie dolls from the movie. Glitter does come off in your hands occasionally from their legs since it is not molded in but lightly glued on. But they are fairly easy to pose (legs don't bend but they do spread easily) and in all very decent additions to the Fashion Fairytale line of dolls.

For parents and others concered with loose arms of these dolls,

I own this particular doll and I too noticed that the arms pop off very easily. There's a trick I learned with action figures that works with these dolls as well. If you have a toy with a loose "peg and socket"-type joint you can use clear nail polish to make it tighter. Simply coat the "peg" part of the joint with a thin layer of clear polish, allow it to dry completly before reinserting it in to the "socket". Add more polish, or remove a layer of it(with a nail file) until you have achieved the desired tightness to the doll's joint. I did this with my doll and her arms are still removable(with greater effort), but they stay snuggly in place on their own.

I am an adult doll collector, and I LOVE the Monster high dolls. They are adorable and strange, and very poseable. Yes, they do come apart (some articulated dolls do...I've got several 27cm obitsu dolls as well that do the same thing, albeit with 'tighter' joints). I think that they were probably aiming for an older audience (preteen maybe?) with these toys. The joints could be a little less loose, and they definitely need to put out a Ghoulia doll (maybe more clothes as well for the characters). But all in all, I think the dolls are wonderful, and quite appropriate for girls who play carefully instead of dragging the poor toy around by the hair or a limb through the dirt. Like with all things, one really needs to use common sense when purchasing toys for younger children. If it has small parts, probably not for them. (and FYIsome of these prices on amazon are ridiculous. If you are paying more than 20 bucks before tax, keep looking!)

This doll is really pretty and sweet. She's beautifully sculpted and has lots of creative detail. This isn't a doll for young children, mostly older girls. Her hands, arms and fins are removable for easy dressing, therefore these small parts need to be handled carefully. I found that her curls were flattened a little in the packaging. She's very poseable. Her feet are really cute, but I don't think there are many other doll shoes that will fit her. Or her body and clothes for that matter. She has a very small body. She comes with a booklet that has a few journal entries in it. Its cute. I enjoy her a lot.

These dolls are the cutest dolls ever but I have had 2 dolls fall completely apart within an hour of being out of their box. Now, I understand that the arms are meant to disconnect and we have had no problems with that at all. The problem we have had is that the legs of the dolls are held together with a gold elastic band between the body. This elastic, if not assembled properly, becomes pinched in the plastic of the doll and movement of the dolls legs breaks the elastic piece by piece until the dolls legs fall completely off and there is no fix for this! It does not matter how gentle you are with the doll if the elastic was pinched in the plastic when it was made then the doll WILL break. I have called Mattel twice about this problem and recommend any other mother who has had a problem with these dolls legs breaking off to call them as well. My girls are older and within the recommended age limits for this set of dolls. The issue is a manufacturing error and Mattel needs to redesign. An elastic piece holding a dolls legs together is poor and cheap design and needs to go back to the drawing board.

"Monster High" is really a cool idea for kids even over 13. I think Mattel really hit the spot this time. These dolls will be very this holiday season, so buy quickly!

Anyway, Lagoona is a wonderful doll. She is very cool looking and has amazing "sea monster details". From her blue streaked hair, webed fingers, fins, and cool fin-like ears she really does look like a sea monster! Her limbs are a little looser than other dolls though, it can easily be fixed with the clear nail polish trick. Her hair has a nice curl to it, but if you brush too much it can get frizzy and the curls loose shape. it can be easily mended with extra small sized sponge curlers. Just wrap them in her hair, wet her hair, and leave it in over night. After you take the curlers out her hair looks as good as new.

Over all a great doll.

PlanToys Chalet Dollhouse Review

Today is my 3 year old daughter's birthday and she has a little sibling on the way any day now so we let her choose an extra special gift from her favorite toy store. That special gift was the Plan Toy Chalet along with many accessories. She was very very excited.

Knowing that it would take some time to build, we let her play with the furniture, dolls, etc. while I went to work on the chalet nearby. I am fairly handy with tools and have built my share of models and Ikea furniture over the years.

While my daughter played and I worked, it became clear that some of the pieces were not machined properly and thus did not fit together as they should. This would not have been a huge issue if it had been a piece that could be easily altered with a drill or some pliers, but this was one of the floor plates that was not beveled in three critical places making it unusable.

Because the Chalet has two parts, I went ahead and built the smaller of the two houses only to find that a critical drill hole had not been made in one of it's floorplates this was less of a problem as I made the necessary alteration so now it is great.

I purchased this really magical toy that was fairly expensive, and in my daughter's mind it came to mean something special even before we started to put it together. Now I have her "living in the guest house" while I have to figure out how to finish the "main house" and it is a pretty big disapointment all around.

A little more quality control wouldn't hurt the Plan Toy people, otherwise I see alot of PO'd parents and some pretty interesting voicemails for the company come Christmas Eve.

I really love this dollhouse. It's fairly compact and at the same time it has a lot of rooms and each room is very spacious. Because the rooms are very open, it is really easy for both of my daughters to play with this dollhouse at the same time (The room with the front door is a bit more closed than the other rooms, so that room doesn't get a lot of use, but probably it will when our girls get a little older). We filled this dollhouse with the Calico critters furniture and people, and my daughters play with it every day.

This is used by 3yr old & 1yr old siblings but I think they'll be using it for several years. The play is very imaginative. I bought the neo bathroom furniture as it has pieces that I couldn't make. But I made beds, bunk beds, sofa, (my wife sewed covers, etc for all these), tables, extra stairs to go with it. There are possibilities to expand the realm of play most recently it was serving as a hospital.

The house assembled easily although the base was warped. Plan Toys send me a replacement which I installed in about 5 minutes.

The house is robust sturdy with appealing colors.

Enough of the electric toys that leave little to the imagination. If you want your kids to think and use their imaginations this is a great toy.

i LOVE this doll! she is the first redhaired moxie girl i own,and that makes her way special to me.i love her ,her clothes,[ carnaby street in the sixties]BUT i don't like the magic snow.it is made out of something that can get in your eyes,you could breathe it in,etc.acrylamide sodium acrylate copolymer,is the name of the stuff that the magic snow is made out of.i haven't opened the little snowflake holding the magic snow,but when i do,i'm going to put it in an old jar or something,and THROW IT AWAY,i am NOT keeping something like this! the little snowflake could be refilled with some non-toxic powder like flour or corn starch or something,and be just as cute to me. i don't know why mga would put something like this that could get in your eyes or could be accidentally inhaled,in with the doll! but the beautiful doll and her outfit is great!i suggest,anyone who wants a GREAT doll,buy the doll,enjoy her beauty,and her outfit,and THROW AWAY THE MAGIC SNOW!

My 5 year old loves Moxie Girlz. I like the fact that they are a step down from "Bratz" dolls which I thought were too made up and teenager-looking. She loves their "fashion" clothes!

The only strange thing is that they don't have feet. When the shoes come off, there is just a leg with a ball on the bottom (that plugs into the shoe). So if your child looses the shoes....well you just don't want that to happen. I told my daughter to keep their shoes on at all times. I don't think she has two barbie shoes that match anyway, so while this seems weird, it's not a big deal.

No complaints here, though I notice that the price has gone up. (This review is based on an approximate $12 cost) I would not pay $29 for it as it is currently priced. YIKES!!

We have not tried the snow due to some of the reviews I read and, well, we live in the Northeast and have our own snow this time of year.

This is a horrible toy. As a young woman who once adored Barbie as a child and practically had everyone, I'm disgusted that Mattel has this available for children. This is a cute idea. My daughter likes hers very well and plays with it. when the doll is flipped out her skirt (made of silicone bake wear material)is hallow so my daughter like to play with it as a hand puppet. Each doll has its own scent. The scent is not real strong and after a few weeks of her playing with it I really can't smell it anymore. Over all I think little girls will love this its a doll and cupcake and most girls love both of those things!

Plan Toys normally exceeds my expectations when it comes to craftsmanship and durability but with this set there were just a couple of issues for my 3 year old. When setting up the folding chair it was just beyond her abilities to set a rail into a corresponding notch each time. It required her to hold and slide pieces at the same time and it collapses again whenever you move the chair. The regular chairs are cute but the fabric backs slide off if you try to pick them up and move them. And the umbrella requires the extending ribs to be twisted on elastic bands in just the right direction for the umbrella to open correctly. Again, all beyond her abilities and kind of annoying when I have to stop what I am doing to set this up for her.

My daughters have several different sized wooden doll houses and this set works for most of themIt is a great additon to their sets for immaginative play. It has been at the beach, the kitchen table, a patio table, an umbrella covering the play toys... it leaves them many choices while playing. The umbrella can be a little tricky for my 3 year old but my 5 year old has no problem.
