My 3.5 year old daughter already has the baby Rapunzel and recently chose the toddler doll Merida, and because she's enjoyed the others so much we next chose the toddler doll Mulan. Mulan was *MY* choice because I think she's the cutest of the dolls. When the package arrived, we weren't disappointed. Her clothing is very bright and seems to be made well enough. It velcros in back like most doll clothing. Her tiara is held on by a twisted clear rubber band, and some of her hair is banded around it to keep it in place. We haven't taken it off yet, but we did remove them from our other princess dolls so I know from experience that once the rubber band is removed the tiara will not go back on the head except if balanced for just a moment. The shoes fall off quite easily and I'm sure they'll be lost within days. (Merida's are the same. Baby Rapunzel didn't come with shoes.)
My main issue with Mulan is her hair. Baby Rapunzel's hair is soft, full and beautiful. Merida's is as you'd expect Merida's crazy curls to be, and we've not touched it with a comb. But Mulan's -oh the tangles! I ended up having to keep her from my daughter on the first night so that I could attack it with the scissors. I cut probably 6-8 medium-sized tangles out, which wouldn't comb out, and needed a vacuum cleaner to clean up all the hair. We have been able to leave the two twists in on top, but I'm sure after a few more days of play I'll have to re-style her hair and maybe just throw it into a big ponytail.
My overall impression -This is one adorable princess, but her hair is a royal pain in the butt!
