The pink Mermaid Barbie is quite lovely much better than she shows in the picture. Her colors are a much more vibrant transition from orange to hot pink at the tail. she has a lot of details in her tail and just enough glitter everywhere to look 'magical'. Her hair changes from pink to orange in HOT water. Then back to pink with cold water. In comparison to the other two Barbies mermaids, she has the darkest skin tones (much more tan)

One of the features I like with this particular series of dolls is that they have a rubber molded area at the top of the fin (at the waist). So when you bend her to sit, you don't see any seams or underwear as with the other Barbies. It's a smart design and really helps keep the illusion of the doll being a mermaid. However, the rest of the tail is hard plastic. I must preferred the soft bendable plastic of previous, more expensive Barbie Mermaids.

She is one in a series of 3 that all have the same exact details, face, etc. Only the hair color and the color on the tails/bikini top/skin changes.

As with any Barbie, there is nothing special about them. Guess it is all about the imagination and the child. My daughter got the pink and blue one for Christmas. They are cute. She doesnt really play with them even though she asked for them. I like the fact they dont have clothes that get taken off and thrown around. This Barbie definately wont be a naked Barbie. All one piece. Overall, super cute Barbie.

I got this barbie for the tubby, and it is great for that. HOWEVER, her hair DOES NOT change color as advertised, and the tail does nothing either. My little one likes it for the tub, and has a GREAT imagination, so it works for us.

I bought this Barbie doll for my niece (4 yrs old) her 1st Barbie ever and I was super excited and sure she was going to love her 1st because the changing of color and 2nd she could take her in the tub w her (she loves baths). So there we were on Xmas day with the Barbie under the water waiting to change and NOTHING! Later on there was the Barbie doll abandoned and wet in the bathroom sink and my niece back to playing with something else... And Barbie? Ask her if she likes them! Don't waste ur money! Very disappointed!

This mermaid barbie has a really pretty face and her hair isn't bad but not not anything special. Overall pretty generic.

Her body is where she's really disappointing. She has very minimal articulation and can only really kinda "sit" and wave her arms...the worst part though is her top and tail design. Her top is very gaudy and is dumped with glitter. Her tail is the same story, very gaudy with a bunch of gems, flowers, stones etc it does not look like a mermaid fishtail. She looks like she came out of a mining cave not from the sea. Her tail mold is also really awkward, it's short and has a really odd shape towards the bottom as if its lumpy.

What happened to the beautiful high quality mermaids mattel used to make that actual looked like mermaids?
