I bought 2 of these soft-sided carriers for the very nice 18" dolls I'll be giving my granddaughters for Christmas. The dolls will be be moved from house to house over the holidays, then travel with the girls cross country, though airports when they go home. I looked at the similar AG carrier first and it has some well-founded bad reviews primarily because the UNCOVERED window exposes the doll's face to damage . This, Our Generation, carrier has a plastic COVERED heart shaped window on the front and a sturdy woven Velcro-closing strap on the inside BACK of the carrier (to hold the doll in place). It's lightweight enough for my granddaughters (6 and 9) to carry on their own. They have not been used yet so I can't comment on the durability or quality other than to say they seem to be fine (OK) quality and the zippers and Velcro all work as expected. Target has them for a good price.

Just warning potential purchasers, this doll is only 4" tall. It is VERY over priced.

It's very hard for 3-4 year olds to get the dresses on/off since they are so small.

The "accessories" are TINY TINY TINY. Think about how small they need to be to fit a 4" doll. One broke (tiara) in the first 5 minutes of play, and another was "lost" for hours due to it's small size. This should be a $15 or less toy, not a $30+ toy.

This 5 inch Sofia doll is adorable and my daughter loves it. The doll itself is very well made and sturdy. My daughter is almost 5 and can change the clothes herself, although a younger child would probably not be able to. The tight nightgown sleeves can be tricky. But the dresses are made well. My daughter loves the accessories (they are TINY though), especially the backpack and book, which both open. My only criticism is that the amulet fits too loosely on the doll's neck and has already been lost 3 times. Luckily we found it, but I expect it to go permanently missing at some point since it is small and does not stay on. I would still recommend this doll, especially for those who are unhappy with the 3" Sofia dolls losing their heads.

One works with the Sofia the First Magical Talking Castle and the other is a line of 4" dolls that while they do not fit in the castle are probably better suited for older children.

Our 4 year old daughter did have some issues dressing and undressing the doll

Small pieces so there are there are choke hazards for small children

Final Verdict The Sofia the First Royal Fashion Doll is a little hard for my daughter to dress and undress but she enjoys it. We wish that it looks a little bot more like Sofia.

There's not a lot to recommend this doll she looked so much better in the package. For one thing, her skirt's ruffles do not go all the way to the back. So she has a plain blue skirt in the back and it looks cheap. The full version of the song, once you take the tag out the back, is really, really, irritating. It's in a very high sing song voice that sounds like something from a 1980s Japanese anime aimed for 4 year olds. Since she lights up, you can't remove the top or really redress her in much. Though that terrible skirt has to go.

None of the dolls in this series come with stands, so they can't really stand up and pose with the microphone on their own.

In all, it's a disappointment you don't learn about until you debox. So you can't return it. I'd recommend hearing the song in the store before you buy it online. Decide for yourself in advance if it will drive you crazy hearing your daughter playing it over and over.

Got this doll for my four-year old's birthday. She loves the song and flashing lights. Seems to be holding up well so far. The song isn't really that annoying, but I do wish it had a volume switch to turn it down.

This Barbie is absolutely cute. My 5 year old absolutely loves it, She sits with it for hours playing concert with the rest of her toys. The barbie doesn't come with a stand but since my daughter is 5 and has no where to go, she takes her time to make the Barbie grab the microphone just right to give her support and make her stand, and she does. The skirt doesn't go all the way around, but we just don't care, the Barbie is cute and has fun colors and for the sale price it's worth it.

It's been a long time coming.... or maybe it just seems like a long time since Kai Lan toys and books finally came out!

This soft Kai Lan doll is made of soft cloth and has the word the Chinese Mandarin character Giggly on her shirt. Kai Lan also comes with a Chinese character Giggly charm big plastic charm which is suppose to be a Jade charm for your child to wear. Other than the purple hair bows everything on her head is sewed on. So, I know Fisher Price strives to make safe toys for our children.... just watch your children and the bows.

Fisher Price also came out with other Kai Lan dolls: Kai Lan Sweet (she is winking with one eye and has a pink shirt), Kai Lan Silly ( has both eyes open and has a green shirt) all dolls come with a "Jade" necklace with the same Chinese character.

PS: Check your local stores, you might be able to find this cheaper so you don't have to pay extra shipping or hopefully Amazon will carry it directly. I just really dislike when sellers jack-up the price. I understand about making some money.... but come on, you know what I mean. Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox.

Recently I purchased the Courtney Tea Party Playset and the Bedroom Cottage Carrying Case and the Rachel Doll with a bunny for my 7 yr old and 5 yr old granddaughters. My daughter simply loves Paddywhack Lane toys and is intent on amassing the entire collection. I love how durable and well made the pieces are, they have held up to everything my son and daughter have dished out and they still look brand new. Having seen them in person and how much fun to play with I would highly recommend this set!

this was a gift for my four year old daughter she has had so much fun playing tea party with the doll & bear included and incorporting some of her other toys. My girls and I are huge fans of the Paddywhack Lane sets and this one was no exception. This set does have some rather tiny pieces so I wouldn't buy it for a child younger than four unless I planned to keep the tiny stuff safe for a while. Other than that this set has been wonderful for my two and four year old daughters.

We have been delighted with the Groovy Girls line and furniture. The Groovy Girls Kitchen looks great in the picture. And it IS colorful. And it looks like a kitchen from a distance with the other furniture. It just doesn't have much play value with its patchworked fake flat front. I was hoping and expecting the doors would open for the fridge, microwave and oven, and pictured my daughter having fun putting Groovy Food in and out, having Chef Charlotte take something out of the oven onto the counter, looking for something in the fridge, etc. I guess I was too imaginative, or am just not enough! I saw the lined cubby hole at the bottom, implying depth, and thought they would do the same for the appliances. It wasn't an inexpensive piece so this seemed realistic, especially since the school desks that are half the price open and close so you can put things inside, which makes them nicely functional and fun and is a feature my daughter loves. I thought it would be the same for this. It is cheaply made for its price. Way overpriced for a fabric covered rectangle with a silver faucet. Ok, there is a counter and shelf and a cute little hand towel bar but I think they missed the main point. This is a piece that will work well as a background piece to create an image of a kitchen in a dollhouse without much play involved. I just expected more play quality from Manhattan Toy. While I would enthusiastically recommend almost any other groovy piece, not this one. If you do decide to get it, at least you will know what you are getting.

Thats right I'm a almost thirty year old man and I play with Barbies. Well not by myself but with my daughter who is four and since I am a stay at home dad I find it really affecting my mind at times and Barbie time becomes pretty intense time of play. Anyways this doll is worth its fifteen dollars but minus shipping. My advice go to a Toys R Us or something like that and get it. I got this with free shipping so I am fine with it. I tried it out at the store before I got it and went home to think about whether I wanted to get it for her or not. Since she has so many dolls that was my debate but than I thought about the fun and good times we three could have and I had to get it. I ordered online to avoid Christmas crowds and still got it before since the shipper was in the state I live.

The best part of this doll is Ken tells me how awesome I am a lot and I even took a magic marker to make him more my own. One time he said I am an amazing individual and its the exact boost I needed and the whole day nothing could get me down. So I had to make this doll my own since my daughter designated me this doll when we play or Prince Eric or usually both. So now Ken has himself a beard and some pretty sweet prison type tattoos. So now when Prince Eric, Ken and Barbie are all in the Barbie car together they have lots to talk about. I keep having stop motion ideas in my head for this something along the lines of Ken goes to prison gets back out and Barbie has two dogs and some kids so he learns to cope like in some sort of sit com. I have a theme song and everything thought out. My projected budget is three million dollars to make. Hopefully this will be a project for me and my daughter soon. Now I just figure out what I want to do with his hair or my daughter needs to figure it out I mean.

One thing I am disappointed by is actually his voice you either have a slow motion voice, fast voice or the normal voice that you speak into it. I was hoping for something like someone elses voice sound maybe a model sounding voice or movie phone guy. This is very durable since it has been thrown and beaten up on and he still speaks perfect english. I cant see the educational value unless his hair not moving anywhere teaches kids the physics behind hair gel. But then again with pretending the guy can be a teacher or anything so its really up to the kid or parents to make it educational. Overall this has been a good present for my daughters collection and now we have more things to enjoy together. One think I don't like is as soon as you touch the button on the chest it will erase what you say and its actually easy to do. Then you have no choice but to painstakingly push the button again and record your no longer than five second recording which by that time all that work has you exhausted. Whew, I am tired from just typing that because its so terrible when it happens. It just kills the whole experience thanks to that silly button in the wrong spot and now I am so furious just thinking about it and him and his pretty hair cut and inconveniently placed button. Makes me wanna eat a sandwich with no bread. Anyways thanks for reading my review and don't take it too serious?

This is a fun doll. My three girls really like it. Only negatives that the other reviewers state are that you have to install batteries once the 'try me' tab is pulled out of his back but this was not the case for us. The batteries worked great. Other negative review seemed to say you cannot replay what you recorded any more than the one time Ken says it right back to you but the box claims you can. Well, you can replay what you record as much as you want but only the last phrase you recorded. For instance, you push on his chest to record up to 5 seconds. Then, when you release the button he repeats what you said right back to you. If you then want to hear it again, you press one of the three buttons on his back allowing you to choose what 'voice' to hear it back again in. Either Ken's voice, your voice, or a high voice. You can replay it back again and again. However, once you record a new message, the prior one is gone. It only stores the latest recording. Maybe the negative reviewers wanted to be able to store more than one message and I'll admit that would be more fun but this is still a neat toy. My daughters are now recording 'Ken' screaming and they put him in a Barbie car to pretend it is a roller coaster. Have had him proposing to the Barbies as well and even saying annoying things to their sisters! It is a doll worth the money. Do wish he was more poseable like the more fun ones these days but the fun is just elsewhere in this one. Hope they make a dark haired version soon! You will not regret the purchase. I think any girl would get a kick out of this.

As others have noted, this Ken doll is quite fun. You can play back whatever you record in several types of voices. It really makes my 7 year old laugh to hear her voice deep like a man's.

The only detraction for me is that he has solid legs so he isn't that posable other than bending at the waist. His clothes are nearly identical to the Shaving Fun Ken doll and his hair is nearly solid from the gel you can't style it.

But in all, a fun doll with a lot of play value.
