This is a beautiful outfit, but it is also true that this will not fit American Girl dolls. It was made for Carpatina which are beautiful dolls, but have an all vinyl, slimmer body. However if you go the the Carpatina website, you will find they have a new section called "friends" where they have made many of their beautiful clothes larger so they will fit American Girl dolls. They have many period dresses, some modern, and some dynasty outfits. It took me a while to figure it out, so thought I would explain. By getting the wider, larger outfits, they can fit the American girl and are a bit roomy, but work, on the slimmer dolls. My granddaughter doesn't notice. So which ever size doll you choose, these clothes are beautiful.

Although the description now acknowledges that this outfit does not fit American Girl dolls, the original marketing of the dress indicated that it would. The material is beautiful, but the dress is a bit complicated for little hands, and of course the fact that it did not fit my daughter's doll caused great disappointment. While I appreciate that Amazon has now corrected the description, it did no good for those of us who bought the misrepresented outfit.
