Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Mattel has imprisoned this doll in its box. First, you must remove the tape that hermetically seals the outer box. Next, you remove the inner box, which holds the doll. Once you've managed to cut through the invisible stretch ties that are wrapped numerous times around every single part of the doll and her accessories, get out your sharpest scissors to cut through the raffia rope that's threaded through the box and around the doll.

But, wait, the box isn't about to part with the doll just yet. I struggled with trying to disengage the doll from the back of the box for about 15 minutes (I began to wonder if the package designer used to design home monitoring ankle bracelets for a living). Then, I just happened to notice the diagram on the back of the outer box, which tells you to twist a white button on the back of the inner box counter-clockwise. Once you do, the doll pops right out. They couldn't put that message on the back of the inner box, where you'll need it the most say, right next to the white button.

Have extra hankies on hand Christmas morning to dry tears when your little girl can't get her new doll out of the box. It loses one star for over-the-top security packaging because it's a Fisher Price toy, not the crown jewels.

Once out of its confinement, the doll is very cute. It does everything they say it will well almost. And, it's full of surprises. She giggles when her feet are tickled and says she's going to pee. I almost peed myself when I first heard that.

The accessories are all part of the fun. The bear and juice pop have magnets that allow her to hold and react to them. The purple bracelet is actually a band-aid that snaps on her leg when she gets a boo-boo. Her leg lights up red to indicate the boo-boo, but don't worry, she'll be sure to tell you all about it and demand...er...ask very sweetly for a band-aid. Her tongue lights up green when she licks the juice pop. There is no reaction when you use the spoon to feed her, which doesn't make sense. There's a pink hanky that you can use when she sneezes, or to wipe her face with when she tells you she's sticky. She makes licking noises, giggles, sneezes, asks for kisses and hugs and talks and talks and talks.

150 actions? Not that I could tell. It definitely has more than the average speaking doll. It also does not react to your touch. What it says is on a loop. At first, I thought she was reacting to my accidentally touching her feet, but later when I touched the feet on purpose, she didn't giggle. She will ask for a band-aid and tell you it's all better before you put it on, so she's not responding to the action itself. If she asks mommy to blow her nose or clean her face, she'll react to any movement in front of her face; however, if you touch her face at any other time, there's no reaction. So, it only appears that she's reacting to your touch. Most little girls will catch onto this after a while, but they'll have fun with her anyway.

The clothing does not come off of this hard plastic doll. There is a very short opening in the back so you can replace the batteries, which come with it, and turn to it on and off. But, it's not that easy to find the on/off switch because the opening isn't large enough. So, expect this doll to stay on all the time. And, that's going to be a problem because it talks constantly, which is where the real baby part comes in. It loses a star because there's no cuddle factor and she's heavy.

You can't get this doll wet or you'll ruin her. She's good for one thing and one thing only listening to her jabber on and on and on until real Mommy or Daddy removes the batteries and tells their real little girl that her dolly is broken. Hey, don't judge until you've been there. ½ star because it won't be long before this doll just sits on a shelf.

Overall: 3 stars because it's a cute idea and a fun doll. But, for how long is the real question.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program It talks and talks and talksmy girls(ages 5 & 7) call a chit chatter, but absolutely love toting this adorable, robot thing around.

The product states the doll delivers over a 150 phrases/wordswe haven't reach that, I don't think, but it sure can talk and act like it wants constant attention. Lips turn greenwipe them cleanafter 'licking' the popsicle; boo-boo on leglights up red better after plastic bandaid is place; it kisses, wants it bear, tickle toesit giggles, on and on, etc. with a very cute voice, I think. One reviewer stated their child loves it, but they themselves found it creepy. Probably because it does so much.

Our children rate it a big 5 Stars, and they're not big into dolls either. They carry it around, take it in the car, sit it at the table, put it to bed... It's a bit expensivewish it were about $15-20 less, but at least our kids certainly are getting their use out of it. My recommendation: weigh your own child's desire to have and play with something like this. If they absolutely love dollsdefinitely yes, maybe a Christmas or birthday kind of present; otherwise, wait for the price to come down.

On/off switch on back under its clothes, "Honey, can you turn that thing off, now, please!!!" Just kidding. I don't mind ityet. It's well made and appears durable. Perhaps, I should stop calling it "it".

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I got this doll for my 2-year-old granddaughter. Bottom line first: she loves it. And that's what we look for in toys for our young'uns, isn't it?

This is a large doll, and very well made; solid construction, as you'd expect from Mattel. It should last for years. It has several accessories which can be used to make the doll do things: when she gets an "owie", there's a "bandage" that clips onto the spot so she can "heal"; she's got a popsicle that she can "lick", which makes her mouth change color, and which can then be "wiped" away; things like that. It's very interactive. This is great and very absorbing for my munchkin.

I don't know why the age recommendation is 3+. I assume it's because of the accessory parts, and that this whole society is running scared of liability lawyers.

The only real drawback here is the price. As a Vine member, I get products for free in order to review them. I don't know about shelling out over $70 for a doll, frankly. This is a really terrific product, but if I were facing the idea of putting that money our of my pocket for it, I'm not sure I'd do it. Not because of anything about the product itself; that just seems like a lot of money to be paying for a doll.

One more thing, FYI. When I got this toy, I was wondering why it was listed as a "Mattel" toy, when all the labeling all over the box said "Fisher-Price". Well, on the very bottom flap I finally found Mattel's name, and subsequent research led me to the fact that Mattel owns Fisher-Price. But in all reality, this really is a "Fisher-Price" product more than a "Mattel" product.

Honest reviews on Little Mommy My Very Real Baby Doll

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is the sweetest doll I've seen in a long time. She is a combination of the traditional, huggable baby doll and technology. There are 150+ actions, sounds & phrases. She actually responds to touch. She's a great way to distract "mommy" out of a cranky mood. It's hard to be cranky when this doll says all those loving phrases and needs attention.

The electronics make it difficult to dress and undress her. They also make her a little 'hard' and less huggable.

She has an adorable voice and a sweet disposition. How can a doll have a sweet disposition? The things she says and does. "I love you, bear! You're the best bear in the whole world!" (and she kisses the bear with a loud kissing noise), and "I love you THIS much (and her arms go out to show you how much she loves you." Nice eye lashes!

She works on magnets and 4 AA batteries, batteries included. One plus for me is the fact that she doesn't seem to "require" more accessories. I went to their web site at littlemommy.com and there are plenty of accessories, but the doll does fine without them. If you want to buy the stroller, pony, bed, shopping cart, bath & training set, high chair, play pen, and/or crib, they are available, but definitely not necessary. This doll comes with enough accessories to keep a child busy and happy. I would suggest counting the accessories and having a special storage place for them at the end of the day. Otherwise you will be pulling long searches for a spoon or Bandaid, because your child won't want to be without them.

Positives: This is such an adorable doll!

Negatives: There are none. I love her already.

Make sure not to lose the bear, juice pop, wash cloth, head band, band aid (which looks like a plastic bracelet), dish, and spoon. I would advise open the box very carefully, from the back side of the box, as designed. That makes things much easier to clip and remove.

EDITED after 2 days of listening to her constant chatter. The adults were all joking about her maniacal laugh. Lots of jokes about wasn't she the doll in the horror movie, etc, but the children ignored the jokes and kept running to feed her and fix her 'owee' and give her bear to her whenever she talked. SHE HAS AN ON-OFF SWITCH and we did use it. :)

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This doll wasn't that much of a hit with my 3 1/2 year old daughter. After playing with this doll for a day she's been tossed in the toy box and hasn't made a return. This doll talks a lot and where as saying lots of different phrases she gets through about all of them in 5 minutes and then starts repeating them again. It's cute that she'll give you hugs, kisses, eat, sleep, and needs an boo-boo to be fixed but like I said, after awhile all that kind of got old. Her movements are kind of loud and if not held in the right way can jam up. This doll is also very hard so she wouldn't be a good toy for snuggling or sleeping with. Her clothes aren't removable so that was kind of a downside because my daughter likes to play dress up with her dolls. I think this doll is an okay doll for about 30-35 dollars but no more than that.
