I was able to track one of these down and get a good look (and purchased this one). The pictures don't do it justice, this is a well made doll. The clothes are very well made (better than some of mine I can tell you!). The accessories are great as are the other little "trinkets" that come with it. My daughter LOVES the nose ring and the henna. Since she is almost 4, we took off the things that could be easily lost (earrings, bangles, shoes) and stored them for when she is bigger. I did that with the book because the concept of a doll having a story was beyond her at this point... but I knew that going in.
My only complaint on the doll itself are how articulated the joints are. The head, arms, and legs move REALLY easily so if a little girl (under the recommended age 6 I'm sure) wants to position the doll, it can be tricky. It reminds me of the older dolls that used to have rubber band joints.... But, that being said, it is still a wonderful doll.
My daughter loves this doll so much she wants me to make a "Nahji Birthday" for her. I had NO idea how to figure that out so, for kicks, I contacted the company for ideas... AND GOT A DETAILED AND HELPFUL REPLY IN LESS THAN 12 HOURS! They gave me game ideas, suggestions of some fun activities, and apologized for not having more on the website to download. Wow!
So, basically, I am sold. My daughter has Consuelo (Mexico), Dell (US), and Lilian(Belarus) on her wish list for her Christmas and bday. She says she wants them all before she is 5. :) I personally love Tipi(Thailand). Rachel (Ethiopia) by the way is EXQUISITELY made (the clothes were amazing) however the hair in person is MUCH bigger and looks like it could become a giant mess, so she may be better for an older girl. Just a word to the wise.
In short, if you are looking for a healthy/self esteem building alternative to the typical "fashion" doll AND want to feel good about your purchase, I highly recommend the H4H doll collection. You won't be disappointed.

I bought this for my daughter for christmas, though from another site, was out of stock on target. loved the concept of this toy..one its a nicely designed, secondly they learn about the different countries, website to play games and read about the dolls at playmate toys is good too. Thirdly, not sure how much of the 25$ go to charity, but feels good to buy it. She is 7 and loves the henna on hand, had it done the same way on her own hand too and learning to collect her tooth fairy money so she can buy the mexican doll herself and aware she will be helping another child too. Durability of doll, hoping it lasts for a long time..all the 5-6 dolls on the website are absolutely adorable.
