My 5 year old LOVES this tent! As many already shared, the poles are easily breakable. After searching online for a fix, we discovered that you can replace the poles at a hardware store! PEX piping which is found in the plumbing section. It's used for under the sink plumbing and comes in different widths and lengths. We purchased the 1/4 inchx5ft size and cut off about a foot. For under $5 it's a great fix for fun and affordable tent!

The tent comes with no instructions for set up. After several attemps and trying to mimic the photo on the box we realized the straight poles needed to be curved. First pole we tried to curve broke. We now have a very sad little girl and a tent that we can't use. We will be mAking a trip to Home Depot to look for alternative poles. Don't purchase this toy too much unnessecary work.

My daughter received this tent for Christmas for her American girl dolls. She was so excited. I was so scared putting it together. The poles seemed too long and I really struggled getting it together. There were stress marks on the plastic poles from the bend. We didn't dare take it apart to store it as it would surely break. She did have much fun with it for a month, then it just broke. She is a very gentle child and takes care of her toys. I came running when I heard her crying and as I was standing there the second pole broke with no one even touching it. We are sending it to Grandpa to see if he can fix it but my daughter is absolutely heartbroken. Reading these reviews, I see we are not the only ones with this issue. Has anyone had any luck fixing or finding replacement parts? I will sand down the poles if I can find replacements.

I'm holding back on completely blasting this product because of the way the distributor/manufacturer handled my wife's inquiry (more later), but for now:

We purchased the Pink Our Generation Camping Set for our 6 year old daughter to use with her American Girl Doll, as well as her Our Gen. Dolls. Unlike others, we had no issues with setting up the tent (in other words the poles worked as expected). Our daughter played with the set for a good 2 hours and having a a great time in imaginative play before moving on to other things, and in the course of my wife simply moving the tent out of the way one of the poles snappedunfortunately like others. I could leave it at that, but for the sake of fairness I'll continue.

My wife emailed the Customer Service address and received a prompt reply that included the company's apology, an actual admission of a known fault, and a promise to ship us a set of poles that have been redesigned to address said known fault. We haven't received the replacement poles yet as it has only been two days, but I am confident based on the promptness of the email response that they will hold true to their word. If the poles are truly redesigned, this camping set will get a ton of play. If the poles fail to show up or are of the same make and quality, I'll blast away.

In closing, yes, it was pricey, but try finding this set at Target in the summer after you promised it to your 6 year old daughter after a camping trip.....
