Cheap LOVEE PATTI DOLL AND HER TALKING FARM PALS
I don't know why manufacturers shoot themselves in the foot. How did this doll win "the best toy of 2009" award? Do these people have real live kids? (eye roll). The doll itself is just fine. Nice silky hair, cute face, soft and cuddly. But why even bother with the farm animals if you're not going to let them speak in their own "animal language"? Instead of doing "mew", "eeeee" and "quack quack" they let Patti yack and yack something incomprehensible and inaudible. I think they say things like "I'm a donkey, I eat hay and sleep in the stable" or something like that. Who would know (or care)? This doll is missing it's main market segment (babies) who only care about short animal sounds not elaborate blabbing...The speech is garbled anyhow and difficult to hear and understand even with fresh batteries. The dolls head is attached with a plastic ring, the blue dots that show you where to press to make the animals "talk" are just stickers that my 1 year old peeled right away and tried to eat and of course the doll is made in China like anything else in the toy world these days...Sigh...I might be a tough critic, but really, it's disappointing when a doll is so close to something really great and they fail to execute all the way. By the way mine has red checkered shirt and red ribbons, in case that makes a difference. Check the discount store that ends with double XX and starts with initials of Thomas Jefferson and you'll find it for real cheap.
