I ordered a Lalaloopsy for my daughter this year after she had begged for one for months. I thought looked kind of creepy and voodoo-like. I don't know if it was just the plastic ones or what, because I ordered the soft ones (a girl one for her and this boy one for myson). It was a hit! He loved having his "own doll" and even betterhe and his sister can play with them together! And the soft onesalthough they are pretty well-stuffed, they look like rag dolls. And the pirate theme was perfect! I just wish they had more boy ones for future orders! I think educationally, it is great for teaching social skills and the importance of crossing gender barriers in play. Maybe that's the therapist in me coming out, but I like to know my son can play dolls and not feel immasculated. I really was happy with this product!

Found this dude at Target for $5.00, so try thereyou never know. He was definitely living the pirate life...I had to wipe some dirt off of him before use, so he is easy to clean. (It came off.) I hesitate to put him in the washerif the patch runs, the doll will be toast. Anyway, he is 10" tall, his parrot is 3" tall, and they both have real button eyes (yes, three in all...there is one under the patch; the bird is winking cheekily). Patch is not removable. Cut tag at back; you won't even notice the "leftover" part later on. The back/bottom of his sneaks have an "L" and a "R". Useful for teaching little ones. So glad my daughter can have a soft, quirky guy doll, and can show it off to my snotty neighbor's snotty kid who has the giant 'loopsies with deadly craniums.
