This desk is exactly what you would expect. It fits my daughter's American girl doll and also her Dollie & me as well as her Disney princess dolls. Now my daughter wants her dolls to actually talk and do their own writing. It is very sturdy...I have caught my 6 yr 48 lb. daughter standing on it and it did not bend at all though I did tell her not to stand on it.

My 8 year old daughter got this for Christmas. She has an American Girl Doll and loves to play "school" with her. This desk was easy to assemble (took about 5 minutes) and works great!
