We have had this tea set for about 16 months. This may sound insane, but I bought it when my daughter was about 16 months old and insisted on joining us in our afternoon tea time. Given her age, I wanted something with enough volume for her to use if I only filled it halfway (NOT easy to find! these are a realistic size to actually use!), and I wanted it to be nice looking not just pink. Since she has her own teapot, she can have herbal tea cooled with ice cubes, and we can have whatever we want in our own pot. We have used this set every single day, sometimes more than once a day. I do all of the handling of everything except my daughter's cup and saucer, but she has never broken her cup and saucer in all this time. The pattern still looks as good as new. I use a bottle brush to clean inside the creamer and tea pot and it works well. I admit I have broken a saucer by dropping it in our porcelain sink, but that is not too surprising. We have a place we visit very often, and we do not want to lug the tea set back and forth so I just purchased another set in the Country Rose pattern.

My 9 year old daughter loves this tea set. It is just the right size for her. The delicate roses are lovely. My little girl feels very grown up, having her own tea set to entertain with. It comes with only two cups, saucers and plates, but since she rarely has more than one friend over at a time, this set fits her needs perfectly.

I purchased this gorgeous tea set for my 8 year old daughter. She loved it! However, I made the mistake of letting her have it on her desk in her bedroom. Under her care it would have been just fine, but the two year old got into her room and broke one of the plates. Keep this in mind if you have younger children. It's better to have it up in the cupboards than have the disappointment that comes from broken pieces.
