My daughter--a rabid, Brony-level MLP fan--got this from her cousin for her 6th birthday.
Her review: "It takes some practice to learn how to drive the car where you want it to go, but once you've got the hang of it, it's really fun. I can put four medium-sized ponies in it with the holes in their hooves and the pegs in the car seats, or I can drive whole bunch of mini-pony figures to the wedding.
And the headlight on the car helps me remember to turn it off so I don't run down the batteries.
This was my favorite of all my Pony birthday presents."
My review: OK, she loves it. As she said, it does take some practice, and if you really want precision driving, this isn't the car. But if you just want to zoom a bunch of ponies around the house and annoy the crap out of your parents, this is perfect.
The remote plays the theme song, and a couple of other "woo-hoo!" type sounds. Fortunately, if you read the instructions, it tells you the secret to turning the sounds off.
She did leave the car turned on for most of the day once, and it still worked fine. Doesn't seem to suck batteries as much as more sophisticated RC cars.
Runs fine on both hardwood and carpet, and generally seems to navigate the transition between the two pretty well.
All in all, a successful birthday present.

This is a great first remote control vehicle for littler kids. The controller is simple and my 3 year old picked up using it quickly. Giggle and squeals could be heard for long periods of times as she rolled it through the house. Many of her toys, not just ponies got rides from this car. Battery life seems decent too.The only "caution" is if you have similar little remote control cars/toys like this is sometimes the signals can get confused. We also have a Strawberry Shortcake remote car and if they are both being used at the same time the cars don't know what to do or get their signals crossed. Not that it's a big deal but if two kids are playing with them at the same time it can get confusing why the car isn't responding like they want. But still, very fun!
