My daughter got the Mattel Pixel Chix toy last night for her 7th birthday and she *loves* it. It's a bit expensive at $30 for a smallish toy, but it makes up for it in coolness. It is more like a virtual friend than a virtual pet, but works the same way you feed her, dress her and play games with her, getting access to more items and games the more you play. But Pixel Chix is visually way better than the typical Tamagotchi thanks to its pseudo 3D look. Let your child check it out in "Try Me" mode at your local toy store and she'll probably get hooked like my daughter did. There are 3 different types of Pixel Chix houses to choose from and, according to the package, you can physically plug them into each other which allows the resident Pixel Chix to visit each other's houses and interact with one another.

I puchased this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. It was very high on her 2005 List! I just received it and was playing around in the "test" mode and it is adorable! Once you press any of the buttons a light comes on and illuminates the inside of the house. I was very impressed overall. She's gonna love it! :)

I used to like this toy. I liked it for a month but then you keep on doing the same things over and over again. If i could rate it again I'd rate it two stars for each category and zero for education. I haven't touched my Pixel Chic for at least 6 months. Basicly, you take care of a girl feed, it play a few games with it, let her go out with friends, and change her clothes. Connecting the Pixel Chic with others is boring because every time they do one out of three or four things so after you see all those things it's useless. The Pixel Chic is very boring and is not worth it.

This is a really cute game and I really like it. I got as a gift but my 4 yr old really likes playing with it. I've been playing with my pixel for about a week. The only problem is each time I put her to bed I loose every thing cat, dog, clothes and memory ect./ect. So if I put her down and pick it back up in like 10 mins. I have to hit reset start from the beginning. I don't know anyone who ownes one. I'm not sure if I got a messed up one or if they all do that.
