Sofia the First is one of the newest and most popular shows on Disney Jr. Disney was able to capitalize on their new show by creating a whole line of toys with Mattel. The biggest piece is the Sofia the First Magical Talking Castle which has a pedestal that allows each of the character to speak in their voice. The Sofia and Animals Friends is designed to work with the Magical Talking Castle.

My daughter is four years old and really enjoys the show and likes the Sofa dolls. The Sofia doll does not interact with animals, but it still fun for my daughter.

Notes-

Comes with Sofia, Clover, Mia the Bluebird, and the Squirrel

Sofia the First and Clover will work and talk with the Magical Talking Castle

Sofia's head will pop off if you are not careful, it goes back on easily

Mia the Bluebird and the Squirrel are very small and would be a choke hazard for young kids

Final Verdict The Sofia and Animal Friends is a bit of an oddball. It is designed to be used for the Sofia the First Magical Talking Castle but the castle comes with both Sofia and Clover... so a majority of the pieces (ok....technically half) come with the castle. Like all of the small Sofia toys the heads do have a tendency to pop off, but if you can look past that it will be worth considering.

My daughter received this gift set along side the Sofia the First Castle and the Royal Family.

First and foremost, expect Sofia's head to pop off often. It's kinda like a bobble head design without the bobble, but it does pop back on easily. We'll be taking super glue to all of our Sofia the First dolls I think.

Clover, while cute, doesn't activate any of his voices that he is supposed to and this particular Sofia doesn't activate hers either. The dress on this Sofia seems to be just a touch longer, when compared to the dress design from the one in the castle and the one in the royal family, and it seems to be the interference.

All, the picture is a bit deceiving, do not expect Sofia to stand up straight because she can't.

It's cute, but don't expect much out of it. I paid $9.97 for this at Wal*Mart and it's maybe worth $5 as it stands. It's very true to the show, but they have a lot of room for improvement with this new SOfia line. Nothing seems to be working the way it's supposed to.

My daughter received this set and the Royal Family set for her third birthday. The heads of the Sofia and Amber dolls kept popping off so I emailed Mattel. Three days later we received replacement dolls in the mail. All of these dolls are so cute and my daughter has played with them for hours already. I can't vouch for how well they work with the castle, we have the Little People Disney Princess castle and she plays with them with it. If your little girl likes Sofia she will love these playsets.
