The brunette Skipper dolls (and rest of the family) have come a long way since the very first Barbie. I still like to original blonde Skipper, but my granddaughters love the different colors on the various Skippers just for the individuality. (Now for the young teen boys??)

I bought this for my great niece's fifth birthday. She is crazy about the Barbie collection. As a kid my favorite doll was Skipper so I decided to get her one too. When she opened it, she was so thrilled she said, "It's just what I always wanted," even though I don't think she knew it existed. I didn't blow the picture up before I ordered, so I was surprised to see she has a blue streak in her hair. I wasn't sure what her mother would think of that, but it didn't seem to be an issue. That was one excited little girl!

I bought this for my granddaughter. I remember Skipper from when my daughter played with Barbie. When I asked my granddaughter about Skipper, she had no idea who I was talking about since they have at least 3 other "sisters" for Barbie now. So when I found this one on Amazon AND it had brunette hair (the preferred hair color by my granddaughter since that is the color hair she has) I knew I had to buy it. It has a little streak of blue in her hair to make her current and up to date but it isn't so much that it looks gaudy. This is definitely a grandmother approved doll.
