I bought this for my 4-year-old granddaughter as I had seen another Adora Doll (the froggy outfit one) in person 3 years ago with the same face and red hair and always thought she looked so much like my granddaughter who also has red hair and similar features. Now that my granddaughter is old enough to enjoy it and take care of it properly, I decided to buy the tutti fruity doll going by picture and description (because her hair style is more like my granddaughter than the froggy outfit doll with straight hair) and give it to her at Christmas. Now that I received it I am just a little disappointed as the red hair is not like pictured; it looks more like light brown to me, especially in bright light ... in darker light it has hints of red hair, but not the same color as the froggy outfit doll that I saw in person whose hair is definitely red. I wish the description was more detailed. I even went to the Adora website and couldn't find a description other than "red hair". The other disappointment was that the vinyl legs only go up to the sock line, then it's cloth. This doll could not wear a short dress or shorts (which my granddaughter loves to dress up dolls and I know would want her to wear different summer outfits) without tights or something to cover up the legs. Other Adora dolls' vinyl legs go up further as I've seen them on the website with the legs showing. The tutti fruity outfit has pantaloons covering up the legs so I had no idea. Again, I found nothing to describe that feature, not even on the Adora website. This Adora doll is beautiful, though, with very realistic features including real eyelashes. Her smile and dancing eyes and even the nose are so much like the features on my granddaughter, I just had to get her. You are able to turn her head, arms and legs which is a nice feature, and she appears sturdy for a 4-year-old who will be constantly changing outfits. Time will tell.
Two years later, and her arm came off when my granddaughter "forced" a sleeve of a dress on her that didn't fit. Her father was able to "repair" it and it's fine now, although I tried myself and couldn't get the arm back on. He's very handy so was able to do it, but I couldn't figure it out. As others had commented, the doll's hair has become somewhat matted from play (although my granddaughter broke the doll's arm, she normally isn't "hard" on her dolls). Even trying to gently comb it hasn't really worked. It has never looked the same as when she was new. That was disappointing. A very expensive doll for all these problems.

I bought this doll for my daughter after searching for red haired blue eyed dolls all over the internet. The doll is gorgeous, her clothes are beautiful and durable, and she seems to be very well made except for the hair. When we opened the doll, the back of her hair was a bit mussed from being in the box. A few days after we tried brushing her hair only to have the curls turn into a mass of friz that sticks out everywhere. I am SO disappointed that I paid so much money for a doll with such cheap hair. My daughter's little Fisher Price dolls have much, much nicer hair and they costed about a quarter of the price. Other than the hair, we love the doll!
