I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my granddaughter, however, due to the death of her grandfather on Christmas day, and a trip away from their home to attend his memorial services, she never got to open the box until she returned from that trip. Coincidentally, I arrived to care for her while her parents were out of town on another matter, and we got to open the box together. I was saddened to find that, although fresh out of the packaging and with brand new batteries installed, the van did not work. It was almost as if the frequency between the van and the remote did not match. Furthermore, there was no way to open the van to see if there was a wiring break or other possibly repairable problem, so we could do nothing with it except send it back. The van was no longer available through Amazon (maybe there were other returns for the same reason?), however, because the van came directly from Amazon, the return was easy and the refund included the amount paid to return the van to them. I have been a customer of Amazon for many years, and I always rest easier knowing an item ships directly from Amazon, as the return and refund process has always gone extremely well. Within two weeks, the credit was on my card, and my beautiful granddaughter was happily shopping for another item with the gift card I emailed to her from the refund.Best Deals for Moxie Girlz Art - Titude Rc Vehicle 49 Mhz
only goes forwards and backwards the pen color is insipid, you can hardly see it, and the dolls dont even fit in it properly, bit of a rip off if you ask me.Honest reviews on Moxie Girlz Art - Titude Rc Vehicle 49 Mhz
This toy is great...if you want your dolls to get into a car wreck! This is one of the most poorly designed doll toys I have ever purchased. It seems like nobody at MGA tested this thing before putting it on the market. As a grownup collector, this toy is a big disappointment...If I was a little kid who spent my allowance on this, I would be heartbroken. I managed to "crash" this car the first time I tried it and at first I thought it was defective. Then I read the other reviews...I really should have read them before buying! Toys are for kids, not collectors and I always keep this in mind when I review a toy. This car however, doesn't seem made for adults OR kids! It is one thing to disappoint a grownup...I can just go back to the store and return a crummy toy and buy a different one. When I think about all the little girls who begged for this car, only to end up stuck with a low quality pile of junk it makes me REALLY mad!The first issue I have is the motor and the remote. The motor is not powerful enough to propel the car properly. When you put the dolls in it, the car is so weighted down the wheels turn but the car goes very slow, or goes nowhere! The car ONLY goes backward and forward and it doesn't even do this well. It weaves and fishtails all over the place! The result looks as if your Moxie dolls have had too many drinks before driving...and apparently the designers had too many drinks when they made this toy!
It makes me upset that many boys RC cars have lots of power and good controls and tend to be less expensive than girls RC cars...Yet most RC cars made for girls are more expensive but have less detail, no durability, shoddy motors and no realism. The height also means it tips over very easily, especially if it hits a small bump. The motor was by far the worst I have seen in a girl's RC car. Girls want quality cars too and it would be nice to see one that works as well as a boys RC car! I always felt this was a little unfair to do to girls. Why can't there be more cool looking and FAST cars made for girls dolls?
But wait, there is more...The car is too small! The Moxie dolls look really squeezed in and it is hard to get them in and out. The car is honestly UGLY! It looks like a really small, tall minivan...Minivans are NOT "cool" looking cars! MGA could have made it look like a Corvette, a Mustang or some other sleek, sporty, attractively shaped vehicle. But a minivan...WHY? Maybe it was supposed to appeal to all the soccer moms who think Moxie Girlz are "wholesome" dolls. It also has such darkly tinted windows that you can't see the dolls inside. Maybe this is so the Moxie dolls won't be embarrassed when they drive this lemon!
Lastly, to those who like to color...This toy fails on this point too! It has a printed design and comes with markers so you can color it. In theory this sounds like a good idea (the minivan could use a makeover!) but the design is very intricate and the markers DRIED OUT before I could finish coloring it. There also are not enough colors. So I used other brands of markers and ended up with a mish-mash of colors...Keep in mind I am an artist so this should have been easy. If I can't make it look good I can't even imagine how kids feel about this!
I do not recommend this toy to kids or collectors. MGA still makes some cool things...this isn't one of them! I don't have good things to say about the quality and appearance of the entire `Moxie Girlz' line. Moxie products lack the beauty, the detail, the originality and the quality that MGA used to have. Moxie products seem cheap, dull and I get the impression that the designers were thinking more about money than making a quality toy. With the beautiful, detailed and interesting new dolls on the market (Like Liv dolls and Monster High) MGA is going to have to step up their game if they want the Moxie line to last. Kids seem to like them but MGA has lost a lot of adult toy collectors. Adults will notice things like the lack of detail and the poor design and the low quality. I would love to see MGA make a comeback in the doll world but I don't think that is going to happen if they keep putting out junk like this!
