Our Generation dolls work for size/body typebut not all the shoes will fit. It's attractive at first, and though one eye didn't always successfully open/shut, my daughter was pleased.
Biggest Complaint= Doll HAIR looks horrible after 3 months. It doesn't brush/comb at all (American Girl dolls hair is brushable). I am so disappointed by the fewer hairs per inch and the material after being spoiled by the American Girl standard quality. My child doesn't care that 1 year laterour doll's hair is a giant rat's nest, but to me it diminishes the lasting quality a doll should have.

My niece has wanted an American Girl doll for quite some time now but I couldn't justify spending the money on one so I bought this doll. She loves it and the doll is great. :) Very happy with this purchase.Best Deals for Our Generation Jessica-Anne Fashionable And Fun 18" Doll
So my older daughter bought her own doll at Target, this "Our Generation" doll, and a few days later and I could tell my younger daughter had to have one too. I know this is not meant for that age, in fact it says for 6 and up on the box, so I knew it was going to be possibly more work for me. I looked on Amazon and thankfully found one that was cheaper and would come to us in the mail, so we looked for one with a purple dress (her favorite color) and off we went.So when it arrives it has ridiculous amounts of wire keeping it in there, and a 3 year old is not very patient. So that was the first hurdle. The second was realizing the hair situation. Normally, I could see my older daughter being able to be gentle with it, but seeing as it's long, I decided to cut my losses and just put it up in a pony tail holder. This actually helped quite a bit because the very fragile hair falls out much less than it did when it first arrived.
The shoes are easily lost if you clip the small fasteners off, so you might want to just keep them on. I don't encourage undressing at all, so she just accepts that this is her outfit and doesn't need more. But I could see how this would become pricey very quickly if she was on to that.
For under $20 I am very happy we bought this doll. Yes, it's made in China so it was cheap, but on my budget that's all we could do. And she likes playing with her older sister and having something to "bring to the table."
