I purchased this gift specifically for my niece because I believed it could be very interactive. She could watch the film and play with her doll, then read the book, or play with the doll while reading the book, or looking at the book with her doll while watching the movie. Many options came to mind. However, when she opened it Christmas morning, I was annoyed to find that this gift set did not include a DVD as advertised in the product description. She wanted a Barbie this year, so she likes the doll, and I hope she'll read the book on her own, but I believe it has lost some of its perceived ease of appeal because she cannot enjoy the dancing and singing of the movie to intrigue her along with.

I gave this 3 stars, as the lack of DVD does not degrade the gift entirely. I do, however, consider it false advertising and plan on contacting Amazon about this shortly.

I've always been a fan of Barbie. This is great for girls, a barbie and book. It's great for kids to learn and have fun. I bought one for my girls and a few for gifts.

My youngest daughter has been obsessed with 12 Dancing Princesses since it was released. She was to young to have the official Barbies back than, so when I saw this during Christmas, I HAD to get it for her.

It comes with the doll and a book based on the movie. The doll has shoes, a crown and obviously a dress.

The only problem I had with this is that the doll does not look like the original Genevieve from the movie. Her dress is different, and my daughter noticed. Of course, she still loves it and the book which she loves to take places with her.

I gave this a 3 stars in "Educational" only because it did come with a book! Yay books!

I bought two of these...One for a gift for my son's classmate & one for my daughter. It is really nicely packaged & the doll comes with a storybook. Good value!

My little niece loves Barbie and the color pink, so this is perfect for her. She is a bit young for the book, but will enjoy looking at the pictures. Great buy!
