This is a great doll for little boys. The clothes are brighly colored and it is educational, so it doesn't look "girly." Our son is 2-1/2 and has nicknamed the doll "Ernie." He loves to zip/unzip the coat and to put the hood up/down. He isn't able to do the fastening of the pockets or shoes (it's harder to do when you aren't the one wearing the items!), but he likes to try to get Ernie dressed. (The coat, shorts, shoes, and watch come off. The doll is also wearing non-removeable socks and under clothes.) The ball cap is attached by a thread that could probably be clipped, but I'm not sure the hat would stay on. We left it alone so it wouldn't get lost. Overall, a very cute doll, nice product, and I'm happy with it.

I bought this my my 4 year old, who was having difficulty with zippers and buttons. He liked the boy doll and began to check it out. It has a lot of nice snaps, velcro, zips, ties and such. The ONLY complaint I have is that the button hole is a bit tight. For a little one just trying to learn, it is discouraging when they can't manipulate the button through the tight hole, it could be a bit looser. But after zipping and buttoning for a few days, he was more confident a attempting these tasks on his own. He now buttons his PJ's on his own, although zippers on his coat are a bit tricky still, but he's trying at least.Best Deals for One Step Ahead / Dress up Doll, Boy
This was purchased, unseen, as a gift request for my grandson. I was disappointed with the quality of the doll (for the cost) it certainly isn't durable and really needs to be when you consider it is to be used over and over again by a toddler. Love this doll...great for dexterity. I have twin grand babies and I got this one for my grandson and the girl for my granddaughter. I think they'll learn many things. Not just buttoning, zippong, tying etc. They're also great for colors, parts of the body and how to care for a toy. I bought this for my 21 month old son who's attempting to learn how to dress. Looked at the other dolls available & they seemed kinda chinzy. Received this lil guy & am VERY happy with the quality & detail! Has everything including velcro & a buckle & shoelace which I found extra cool. My boy will definetly love his pal & will get many hours of self-dressing education (without undressing me! Zippers & buttons & snaps, lol!) Kinda pricey but in this case, u get what u pay for :)
