I must admit, I do not know much about the American Girl doll but, let me assure you my niece does! She was absolutely thrilled with these clothes! She puts them on her when she goes to bed at night, she says that her Aunt Jeannie always picks the perfect gift. Thank you Amazon reviewers for making me look like a super hero gift giver!In my opinion it is a worthwhile purchase, my niece says so!

I bought this for a gift for a little 5 year old girl. It is so cute. I did have to purchase the "bunny slippers" to go with it though because I thought it would be so cute together....and they are! This will fitn the American girl and similar doll lines in the 18" arena. Bought for daughter for Xmas, and she was able to use with her existing dolls, and some other non 18" dolls, so it's very interchangeable. Good quality, no tears, issues, etc..I would buy again if need be
