My daughter (born in Ethiopia) loves this doll. It's the only one we've seen that looks just like her!I hope that in the future they make clothes available for her--especially a traditional white Ethiopian dress!

This doll is a great value and provides a great service with some of the profits going toward helping young girls. I bought this for the daughter of a friend, the daughter is half African, and this was her first African doll--all of her dolls were either white or Dora dolls (in Iowa, where my friend lives, there is a very sparse selection of good African dolls). My friend's daughter loved it, and it has quickly become her favorite doll (it looks just like her--especially the hair). It's a great product, and I cannot recommend this enough. I wish there was a larger selection of high quality, multi-cultural dolls.

As a parent I was pleased to see how cultural awareness was communicated. We learned so much about Rahel, and her family in Ethiopia. I wish more options would be available for instance Dominican Republic, Nigeria, Ghana, Australia, China, Atlanta, Jamaica, UK....the opportunities are endless. My girls love playing with the doll. The size is impressive and its quality justifies the price.

My 3 year old got a gift card from her great grandparents for Christmas and when we went to the store she first picked out Lilian from Belarus from this same collection. It was the only Hearts for Hearts doll they had in stock, but when we went back later in the week they had restocked them all and she asked if she could get Rahel from Ethiopia. After seeing how durable Lilian was and seeing my daughter's enthusiasm for finding Belarus on her globe, I couldn't say no.

Rahel is a gorgeous doll, and she stands up on her own. She comes with a comb, sandals, the outfit she's wearing, removable earrings, necklaces, bracelets and removable bracelets on one arm.

The dolls are very educational as well, as they come with a story about her, and part of the proceeds go to World Vision who then uses that money in the specific community the doll comes from. The website associated with the dolls has more information on real girls they drew inspiration from and has games and things to do, though we haven't tried any of them.

These dolls are definitely at the top of my list now for gift ideas for others and we are planning to collect them all over time for my daughter, since they are such a great play and educational item as well as supporting a great cause.

Gorgeous Doll! My 8 yr old daughter was so excited to get her! Her hair is SO soft and having spent a month in Africa...her clothing so authentic! She's beautiful. Feels beautiful. Head and limbs move. She's worth it. We are starting a collection. Love the doll, very high quality...love the message of the doll.
