This is the second doll of this series that I have bought my daughter. She is nine. She loves them! The first one has held up perfectly. Her dolls are likely to last through for other children as well if taken care of within reason. The body is soft "so you can hug it" as my daughter put it. The eyes shut flawlessly when laid down. They have prettier faces than American Girl dolls but not as much hair color/eye color diversity in the line. They seem to fit all the 18" doll clothes we have given her but she's not as picky about fit as collectors might be.

My daughter loves this doll! It is well built and is a great alternative to the American Girl doll at more than twice the price! It looks great and should last.
