As many of you know Disney does not directly make toys. They license toy manufacturers to make a variety of toys... and everyone should win. In the case of Mattel and Sofia the First, several of the toys have are pretty good (like the Sofia the First Sofia and Friends Talking Animals) while others needed more time on the development floor (like the Sofia the First Magical Talking Castle). This toy, the Sofia Royal Vanity falls someplace in the middle it does not have some of the flaws the other toys have, but it also lacks some of the features (especially at the price they are charging).
Notes-
With a push of the button the vanity switches from a picture of Sofia and Amber to a mirror. This is easily the best feature of the playset
Comes with 3 necklaces and 2 additional tiaras all of which can fit in the drawer of the vanity. We did have an issue with a couple of the necklaces getting stuck in the drawer, but this wasn't too big of a deal.
As you can see in the video, Sofia really does not fit in the vanity chair.
Sofia and the Royal Vanity playset have difficulty standing on carpet.
The Sofia Royal Vanity playset (and the Sofia included) do not work/interact with the Sofia the First Magical Talking Castle. Also, unlike the Sofia that is included with the castle this one does not have a problem with her head popping off.
Final Verdict A fun but somewhat limited Sofia the First Toy our 3 year old daughter enjoys it but I have my doubts if she will be playing with it in 6 months. I would recommend it to Sofia fans.... and if the price comes down I would be a little stronger in my recommendation

Out of all the Sofia toys we got (then returned) this week, this one was the best. Doll is cute, comes with accessories and an adorable vanity. Really the only flaw I'm finding so far is Sofia doesn't sit well in the vanity chair. That's not a huge issue compared to the smaller sets that had heads popping off every few minutes. Its a little price (I paid $24.98 at Walmart) but if you have a Sofia the First fan in your house she will love it..
