my daughter JUST got this doll yesterday for christmas, but i figured id give an initial review. i may or may not edit this later.
i wanted this doll SO bad for my daughter because its ADORABLE. and its still as adorable in person as it is in the photo. it seems very well-made as most german-made items are. its soft and the hands/head are stuffed so that they stiff enough to be used as a teether, but wont hurt if your wobbly baby lands her precious head on them. the remainder of the body and hat remain unstuffed, which i love, but some may not.
the body is a velvety sort of material with a kathe kruse patch in the middle of the chest. the hands, head, and hat are made of a material i would expect to see on a thin t-shirt...almost onesie-like material. the collar is a stretchy t-shirt material, with an elastic at the neck. you can remove the collar by stretching the elastic and pulling it over the dolls head. the hair is a VERY fine yarn, and the eyes and mouth seem screen-printed on. the blush looks air-brushed on. i think the different textures, firmness, lack of stuffing, etc. all contributeto the exploration of a baby.
the doll seems small, as many people on amazon have said. but it also seems very appropriate for a young baby. i will be uploading several photos so you may see the doll i recieved, the tags which came attached [which you should definitely remove before giving to your child,] the side tags that are sewn into the side of the doll, as well as the size of the doll in relation to a 4oz stick of butter as well as a united states one dollar bill. hopefully this information will be helpful to you in deciding if this is a quality-made doll fit for your child and wirth the price.
overall, i like the doll very much for my daughter and i hope it will stand the test of time, teething, throwing, shaking, dragging, ect. that comes with a baby. :)
[edit.] i wanted to, also, mention that our doll came in a white mesh bag that was tied with a red kathe kruse ribbon. the ribbon is sewn to the mesh bag.

My daughter has developed a special love for her Kathie Kruse dolls. She is now one year old and has loved and held her babies every day of her little life. They are so soft and loveable and I do not fear how or what they are made of because they are German made.I highly recommend these dolls to any parent looking for a unique gift for your children. They are durable and will stand up to normal washing once a week. I put my faith into these little dolls and my daughter puts her love towards them.
