My 6 year old and 9 year old couldn't get the stamper to work on their doll so they used their fingers to apply the hair color. I tried it on my daughter and I couldn't get it to make the designs either.

My daughter asked Santa for one thing...this doll. I read reviews on numerous sites and knew it was going to be disappointing, but ordered it anyway because she really, really wanted it. Unfortunately all the reviews were correct. You can use the paint and glitter to make streaks in her hair, but the stamper thing is useless. The big attraction for my daughter was being able to stamp her own hair. That just made a mess. This toy certainly does not work the way they make it look on the commercial. The doll is fine, the hair stamping is impossible.

I bought this for the daughter for X-mas and since I was writting a review for something else I figured I would come over here and review this product.
It didn;t work that well and my daughter was getting very annoyed that her hair was not stamping like the comercial. She is having fun playing with the doll, but keep in mind that the hair stamping is worthless and doesn't work that great.
Honest reviews on Moxie Magic Hair Stamp 'n' Style Doll -Sophina
This doll was our first venture into the Moxie girl world. While I love the Moxie motto and the look of the dolls this particular doll was disappointing. It is rather unfortunate that the word magic was used to describe this doll. While the doll itself is beautiful and well made and the hair paint and glitter seem to be decent the actual stamping process does not work. After many attempts and doing exactly what the directions said to do we failed miserably with the stamper. So, being the laid back ladies that we are we decided to forget the stamper and hand stamp the doll and my daughters hair. Did it work?? Sort of. It looked much better than when we used the cheap plastic stamper but still not great. The glitter hair gel (paint on) worked nicely and added a nice touch. The sponge applicators that you put the hair color in didn't work that well but my daughter still had fun applying it. Santa brought my daughter the dark haired Sophina doll as it was the one she asked for but I'm thinking the blonde Avery might be better because you could see the hair paint better. I do not think this doll was worth the $24.99-29.99 price point that it was selling for in stores. If you buy any of these dolls just forget using the big stamper tool and use the little pink plastic stampers by hand. It works much better! MGA could have had a great product if they had kept it simple and made the hair color tools things you could do by hand. I'm really hoping the Magic Snow doll works better than this one!

My daughter had seen commercials for this doll and I couldn't find it in stores. I ordered it online and didn't know what to expect. She was delighted that it came with a couple of different colors of hair dye. The tubes are kind of messy when you are squeezing out the dye because they have large openings. Overall it was fun to play with but, the dye does stain so make sure it gets cleaned up right away.
