My daughter loves that the pets are sparkly but she usually doesn't have the mermaids ride on them. She palys with them all separately. Here's the deal with the hair. The WHOLE head of hair doesn't change colour. Just the strip thats already coloured. And the transformation is very subtle. You most likely didn't even see it happen. Here's wat you can do. Blow dry the dolls hair. Then place the head in a clear cup with ice cubes and water. The blue strip will go from a light shade of teal to a brighter shade. Like I said, it's very subtle and a little misleading on the box. Anyways, my only other complaint is the pets get water inside of them and it's hard to get it all out-which can lead to mold growing in them. But my Mermaid Princess loves these toys and so I give it 3 stars cause she can play with them in the car, in the pool and in the tub.

What else to say purchase then if you want to see a huge smile on your daughters face.

She plays with them in the pool and always have them around.

My 5 year old daughter loved this toy. She did, however, break the piece that holds the mermaid onto the turtle.. but still the toy is cute and you can still play with them seperately just the doll can not sit on the turtle anymore.
