I'm not too old, but I do remember getting Barbie's as a young girl. These were not the same. They felt cheaper, did not bend at all at the elbows or knees and the dress was painted on. It was strange to me, since they are still pretty pricey. Of course my niece loved them and couldn't be happier. But as a consumer, there are cooler dolls out there for less money.

My daughter is 8 and she LOVES this set, it has lasted alot longer then any other barbie that has entered our home. LOL she usually loses intrest but she plays with these every day!

I really bought this set because of ken doll, it was never sold in my country. He wears blue jeans, sneakers, light blue coat and a pink tie, simply stunning as if he were a kind of modern charming prince, even crowned. But in the other hand Barbie appears sadly dressed in a stuck glittered corset and her head and eyes are so big that I wondered if it was a scary gift set called KILL KEN , I can't understand why Barbie has turned into this freaky looking.

The heart shape of the box, lovely but one de-boxed, forget it, such a mess.
