I bought this doll for my grandaughter who is "into" collectible dolls but wishes to play with them. The very expensive dolls just did not make sense to me. The Madame Alexander dolls are lovely, affordable and this one is especially cute for an older child who has outgrown baby dolls and is beginning to think "cool". When I was notified that there was a shipping delay, I was a little worried about having it for her birthday, but the delivery date was revised, and we received it earlier than expected. I'm very happy with the purchase, and, more importantly, so is my grandaughter.

My 9 year old daughter really wanted an American Girl doll, but I just don't have the money for a $100 doll, so I did some research and found that Madame Alexander Doll aren't as good, but close...My daughter didn't even know the difference when she got it, and absolutly loves her Too Cute In Boots Doll..

This doll is adorable. My granddaughter loves it. I ordered it on Dec 13. The price was $47.50, plus 6.03 shipping, totaling $53.53. You can imagine my shock, when after our family Christmas (celebrated early), we walked into Walmart, and my daughter-in-law pointed out two shelves full of these Madame Alexander dolls for $25.00! They also have lots of doll clothes and accessories.

This particular doll wasn't on the shelf yesterday, but may have been earlier. If not, WM would have shipped it from another store for me.

The price was the only issue I had with this, however. PearleKids was very responsive to my question about shipping.

I bought this doll last year for my granddaughter for Christmas and she loves it! The $100 American Girl dolls were simply not in my budget so I thought this would be a great alternative. Actually, I like this one better. The AG dolls are cloth up to the neck so when you dress them in a normal collared outfit you will see the stuffed part of the body. With this doll there is vinyl midway up the doll and you cannot see the stuffed part of the body when she is dressed. Her vinyl parts are soft and naturally colored. Her arms and legs are tight and pose-able. Some people have remarked that the hair tangles easily and it does if you brush it with a regular hairbrush. If you use a doll brush or a wide tooth comb it should be fine however, I wouldn't recommend this doll for a child who is rough on doll hair. The doll is very durable and can stand up to a lot of play. Her eyes open and close without any problems. She has the beautiful face that you find on more expensive Madame Alexander dolls. The outfit that she is wearing is well made and is easily removed so you can change her clothes. I had no problems getting her boots on and off. I knit, crochet, and sew so, I bought a doll of my own so that I could make some clothes for my granddaughter's doll. If you make doll clothes and would like to make some for American Girl dolls this doll is very similar in size and will make a great 'model' for your clothes. I must confess I've always wanted a large Madame Alexander doll so the clothes making excuse was a great one to tell myself when I bought this doll. Walmart and Amazon both sell outfits and books for this doll also.

The price is right, the doll is beautiful and well made, and your child will love her.

My 6 year old daughter bought this with some birthday money. Her older sisters have dolls similar but of a better quality (and higher prices). The hair after only 6 weeks is looking pretty ratty already. We knew that this was going to be a problem going in, but it really is horrible. I would not recommend this doll for a girl as young as 6 unless she has major self-control and can keep herself from messing with the hair. (try Gotz dolls for quality hair) But, isn't that what dolls are for?? Messing with their hair?? Otherwise, the doll is of good quality and a good value.
