This fairy (who really isn't identifiable in the DVD) is very similar in size to Polly Pockets (i.e., half the size of a Barbie doll). She comes with highly movable legs so she can assume quite a few positions on her pony (astride, side saddle, etc.). There's a little 'clip' on the top of the saddle that goes around her waist and keeps her on the pony. The clip rotates 360 degrees so your child will have quite a few ways to position her.
The fairy comes with removable wings that can be interchanged with the horse (flying horse or flying fairy). They clip on fairly firmly and don't fall off easily.
The horse has glitter glued on and some does come off in your hands with each play. But not enough to ruin the toy.
In all, I think it is a really cute set. There are 3 different sets and the only difference between the sets is the color. As such, you probably only need to buy one set. We have all three and my daughter prefers the orange/red one best since it is so bright.
Note: the wings 'snap' but it is very hard to get them into either the doll or horse. Even my 8 year old, who is fairly dextrous, is unable to snap the wings into doll or horse. I have to do it for her every time. If you have a child that gets frustrated easy, you might want to avoid this (or you'll end up having to change the wings from horse to doll often).

Bought this for my 9 year old girl that loves horses and unicorn!!! She loved it, it's do sparkly and colorful. I was just surprised with the size of it, I guess I didn't read the product description lol My little girl loved it so this is what really matter.

My daughter LOVES Barbie movies (I think we own all of them!!) And LOOOOVES the little fairies that usually are sold when movie is released. We got the Shimmer/Shine/Glimmer ones and couple other with winds (don't remember names/movie) and some more, so when she saw this one she really wonted all of them. SO far we got the BLUE one It looks super cute, it is hard thou to sit her as nice on pony as on pic:( My daughter took out the holder stick from pony as it totally doesn't hold the doll good, and she prefers to hold doll by herself on pony:) I think the glitter (on all of the fairies sold) should be painted on rather than glued on as it sheds a little bit :(( So it's a little bit messy. But it is a pretty toy for a girl who knows how to respect and act carefully with her toys:)) I'll give it a 4star (just for the glitter and sitting;pp) Oh and I always try to pay not more than $12 a piece so it it's more it's not really worth it (unless U really desperately need it;pp)
