I bought this doll for my 5 year old daughter birthday. This doll is beautiful, when you press her necklace, her dress lights up and she plays music. The doll is well made and her clothes is beautiful. The doll needs 3 triple A batteries for the lights and music to work. Her gown is glittery with a lot of tulle on the bottom, her glass slipper do sparkle, it is so cute. This cinderella doll will go great with the horse and carraige. Please don't hesitate, jsut get it your little princess will be so happy on christmas. Mattel really out did themselves with this doll, must havefor your little one's.

My 3 year old got this and isn't very happy with it. at first its great because it lights up on the front of the dress when you press the necklace, but its got a bulky stiff battery pack under the dress, which makes her heavy and unable to move her legs. and it does not stand up. so she just can't play with it like she does her other barbies. and most importantly, to my 3 year old, this doll can't ride the horse. i saw a cinderella barbi at our grocery store that would have been a better buy.

My 23 month old granddaughter loves Cinderella. She already had the Cinderella lego set and Cinderella golden book, so this doll was the next choice. She absolutely loves it. Here is why this was a good purchase for her.

1. The doll is beautifully made. Nothing cheap about it. The details in the hair and face, as well as in the dress, are well done.

2. My granddaughter can easily press the necklace, which makes the dress light up and music play. It is a beautiful combination, and my granddaughter never tires of seeing and hearing it.

IMPORTANT: This runs on three AAA batteries, and on the back of the battery compartment (which is on the back of Cinderella under her dress) is a plastic tab that you MUST remove for the music to play properly. If you don't, the music will play for only a couple of seconds. That happened to me, and I thought that I had received a defective product until I read the instruction booklet that tells you to remove that tab.

3. The slippers are removable, but very tiny, so I don't encourage my granddaughter to take them off because I know they'll get lost. However they are nice to look at. However, my granddaughter did discover that the shoulder ruffles are also removable, but I put them back on and told her that Cinderella needed to keep them on all the time because those would definitely get lost.

4. The arms and legs easily move so that Cinderella can wave hello or be placed in a sitting position when my granddaughter gives her dinner in her play kitchen.

Bottom line: This is a lovely doll for a little girl.

This doll is really pretty and my little girl loves it for the most part. However, her and I both were disappointed to find that there is a huge battery compartment under her dress attached to her legs! It's basically a battery pack with her legs sticking out from the knee down. So she cant 'ride' horses or anything like that, which is my girls favorite thing for her princesses to do. For some reason, I expected a smaller battery hidden in her back or something. Maybe I have my sights set too high.Lol:)

I bought this for my daughter who absolutely fell in love with it. I'm only disappointed because in order for the dress to light up, it has quite a large contraption as part of her body under the dress. So, although it does light up and is pretty, the doll doesn't do much else. Doesn't work like a "regular" barbie.
