Received this toy as a Christmas present for my one year old daughter. She thinks its great. Other reviews are correct in that the pacifier is hard to put in, but not impossible. However... this doll can be a bit terrifying to adults. Occasionally while lying in the hall... it turns itself on. A bit disconcerting when it decides to start playing a lullaby at 11:30 pm with all the lights in the house off. Especially when it's mouth starts glowing without the pacifier in... kind of expect my child to turn around and say "theyrrrrrre heeeeerrreeee..." Cute toy, but we're pretty sure the movie "Child's Play" was based on this doll. And I'm fairly confident that all those 5 star reviews were written by the dolls themselves, after the families have gone to sleep.

I'm quite disappointed in this. The pacifier is very hard to put and keep in the doll's mouth. There is no music and nothing lights up. I also think the face and hands should be made of something softer. I had asked to return it for a refund, but it will cost as much as the doll to return it; so I've decided to keep it but I won't give it as a gift..just as a "look what Nana got you" thing.

Mostly love this product. The body and feet are plush which is great for bed time. I love the music and glowing pacifier. The only thing I am not so crazy about is that the pacifier is a little difficult to put in her mouth. My one year old cannot do it on her own so she will bring it to me to do. Otherwise, it is an adorable doll and my daughter loves it.

This item gets 4 stars because honestly, it is a bit expensive for what it is. This is just a simple, soft doll. There are no bells and whistles. However, it is exactly what we wanted when we adopted our daughter. It is quite soft. The construction is good and will hold up over time. How hilarious is this item?! There's a great little bathtub so the princess dolls can finally have a bubble bath and get clean. All kinds of little bottles, soap and a scrub brush. Plus the kicker is there's a royal toilet with, get this, glitter in the bowl! There's not much in the way of 'educational' unless you're still potty training your child. It's hard to image little girls not finding this is the funniest thing in the world. Pretty damn funny!

After reading the reviews, I was really curious about how people expected diversity conveyed on a 2.25" doll???

While waiting for Plan Toys to come up with a "truly diverse" (whatever that means) family, I created one myself out of this set and the "Tradesman" set, using permanent markers and some (completely non-toxic) beeswax. This is when the "line" eyes come handy as you can make them any shape you want.

I have to agree that the clothes are a bit "too much" but I modified some of them as well. Now we have a very "diverse" set. Perhaps, Plan Toys should pay me royalties if they read this review and borrow the ideas... :-)

I appreciate that PlanToys offers a wide variety of little people of various ethnicities for use with their wide array of PlayCITY items. This set is very cute (I especially love the girl with the little pigtails!), and while they maybe could have changed up the outfits a little bit, I think they are a fine addition to the other "families" available for play with all the Road & Rail sets. I think we should be careful about assuming that the clothing painted on the little people are a "problem," when, after all, kids are not going to develop a "stereotype" of an ethnic group based on one toy (unless WE emphasize it to them).

In my family, we have several of the "City" people sets, including the Plan Toys City Series Rescue Crew, PLAN Toy City Casual Family of Four and Plan Toys Service Crew, which, by the way, also reflect multiple ethnic groups. All the Plan Toys we have are very well made and able to really take a beating! And the fact that they are made from recycled rubberwood that is organically grown is important to me. So many of the cheaper wooden toys out there manufactured in China it is questionable where they get the wood and whether or not it is being sustainably harvested.

For reference, these "dolls" are about 2.25 inches tall, and made to go with Plan City/Road & Rail items, including those listed below, and not necessarily with the Plan Dollhouse line (though they would work with the dollhouses too). Examples of Plan City items that fit these dolls are:

I don't understand what people are complaining about. This company dressed these dolls in kimono type clothing that is of the Asian culture. What is the problem? If you went to Asia or celebrations in American I am sure you would see Asian people in such clothing! You are looking at a wooden doll with painted on simple features and I find them to be very cute!

I bought one of these for each of my daughters for this upcoming Christmas. I opened them when they arrived to check the quality. I think it's pretty good quality and put together well. When compared to the PBK doll case, this one has more to offer because of the window and bed. The AG brand does not have anything covering the window, so the doll's face can get dirty/scuffed while in the bag, and it costs a lot more. It's nice that these can still be personalized with the slot to put a label in without the permanance of embroidering a name.

I received the item very quickly (thanks, Amazon and Baby Age!) and in perfect shape after shipping. It's a lovely pink color. It is, however, poorly sewn. Several of the seams had long threads hanging from them, and one seam has had it double-stitching come undone. For the amount paid, I expected better quality. That said, it will fit the doll and all accoutrements, and the color will surely thrill my daughter.

Unfortunately, upon removing it from the plastic wrapping, I noticed the seam stitches where already ripped out along the carrier case and the zipper. Doll travel case is roomy and has a carrying handle. I love the window opening for the dolls head and the fact that you can label the case with a child's name (which can be easily changed if needed). I only wish the front and back of the case was a little stiffer so that it wasn't so flimsy. The foldable bed is an added bonus for playing with the doll on the go. Overall quality is average. Still waiting to see if it holds up with use.

Don't waste your time and money. Ordered for my granddaughter's AG doll. Arrived today and I opened it and first noticed that the tab by the zipper was hanging by threads about three inches from where it should have been attached. Then I unzipped it and put in a doll. When I went to close it, the bottom zipper was already broken and can't be used. What junk and poor quality! Now I need to spend more of my time returning it. I saw reviews that expressed disappointment with the quality and others having to make returns or exchanges. I should have heeded the warnings.......

This Dora is wellloved ONLY because it's... well.. Dora. After about 6 weeks, she started to develop dread locks.... nasty, nappy gross dread locks. My 3 year old is obsessed with Dora, so there was no way she was letting this one go. The hair was so disgusting as the weeks and months went by, that I finally just took scissors to her hair and chopped it all off! She looks nothing like Dora now... but still brings comfort to my daughter. She washes up just fine--I removed the electronic device out of her back and threw her in the washing machine and she came out sparkly clean. But it's time for a new Dora... and it's only been 10 months since we bought this piece of junk made in China. Don't waste your money on this one. Oh, and her eyes rubbed off after about 2 months--so it's SCARY Dread lock Dora. Looks like Chuck Dora from that movie. Nasty.

I knew there was going to be some sort of battery in it, as Dora talks. I love the song she sings, and it sounds a lot like her. The doll is adorable in itself...however, my problem with this doll lies in the weight, hardness of her head, and her hair.

The hair becomes a tangled mess and I have to yank on it to get her hair straightshe loses hair because of it... the head is heavy and hard, so not comfortable to sleep with, and the doll itself is pretty heavy. When the back is opened it revealed a HUGE battery/voice box. I wish it could have come with a smaller box or the doll itself could have been lighter, and that the head was softer.

All in all it's cute and fun and a great toy. Just not ideal for sleeping, which was what I bought it hoping for (it is sleepy dreams Dora, so I thought it'd be a good motivational sleeping buddy)

My little grand daughter loved this doll and plays with it constantly. It is durable and cuddly. The items that came with it are a bit perplexing. The bottle and the binky do not fit in the dolls mouth but fit in the teddy bears mouth which was frustrating the little girl so we threw them away when the baby was sleeping so she wouldn't get annoyed with them. One wonders if maybe a man designed those items. Anyway, except for those perplexing accessories that came with the doll I loved it and would give it as a gift to another little girl sans the accessories. My 2 1/2 year old daughter received this doll for Christmas. She was thrilled. The doll is very nice, but the little accessories that came with it are all cheap plastic and I feel take away from the quality of the doll. Even the teddy bear is plastic. By the way, the bottle and binkie fit in the teddy bear's mouth and not the doll's. This doesn't make any sense to me. If the accessories don't fit the doll, then don't include them. Again, the doll is great and high quality and I know will be around our house for a long time to come, I just don't understand the rest.

We bought this doll for our twin girls for their second birthday. I could not have bought a better doll! This doll is great! She is pretty, unlike so many of the other dolls we looked at. I also wanted a doll whose eyes open and close, and this doll fit that criteria also. Our other thought was the Bitty Baby from American Girl. This doll was half the price, and is also made in the USA!!! My girls love this doll. They love wrapping her in a blanket, pushing it in the stroller, and carrying it around. I have even found my six year old playing with this doll. All my girls love it and it has proven to be very durable thus far!
