My 5 year old is in tears right now because her new Barbie won't stay in her chair nor will the chair stay upright--it keeps tipping over ( the suction cup doesn't stick to anything) In addition the dye does not look at all like it does on the box which frustrates her even more and once the dye strips are gone -the fun is over and it is just like any other Barbie except you just paid $25 instead of $12. Save yourself the frustration, tears and money and buy something else.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Hairstastic Barbie is actually just an overpriced Barbie whose function will run out when the dye cards do, so get it for the playing with Barbies rather than dying and styling the hair. This Barbie is sturdy and pretty and has beautiful lush, long hair. A seat is provided to make it easy to seat barbie and style her hair, but this was more of a hinderance she kept tipping over. I don't think that there is an education aspect to this Barbie fun yes, educational no. But then again, who plays with Barbies for the education? I found that the price was a bit too high as well.

My 9 year-old was so excited to play with this Barbie, but she is SO disappointed because you can't buy the color refills at the stores! We had similar issues with the suction cup on the bottom of the chair not staying put. She was able to color the hair with me holding the chair to make sure Barbie and the chair stayed in place. Not all that messy like some others thought.

My main problem is that you have to order the foil color refills from Mattel and pay $2 for 3 foils PLUS $4.95 shipping!!!! The shipping is the same amount for up to $30 I believe, so you may want to order several refills since the shipping will be the same.

I don't find it educational, but I don't really find any Barbie educational. lol

I say save your $$ and get something else.

This is a very cute Barbie doll and the hair color works well. The problem is there is not much hair color and Barbie is too large for the little chair. Once you run out of hair color, you have just a Barbie doll and you can't color her hair any more unless you know how to make your own hair color that will work on doll hair and won't stain everything in sight. The chair is useless for this doll. This is a Typical Barbie toy which is next to impossible to get out of the package and is over priced, but girls just love them anyway!
