I bought this Cabbage Patch Doll for my niece and my friend's daughter, who are 2 1/2-3 years old (one was a birthday and the other a Christmas gift), and they loved it. The gender surprise is cute and both girls couldn't wait to open the packaging to find out what they had. Then they spent most of the day putting on and taking off the cute little cabbage leaf it comes wrapped in. This doll comes with the same delightful characteristcs of all Cabbage Patch Dolls-cute names, adoption certificates and overall physical characteristics. I was looking for a soft-bodied doll and this was perfect; the bonus was the petite size of the doll which was perfect for their age group. This will stay on my list as a go-to gift for kids.

I still have my cabbage patch kid from when I was little, it is almost as big as my daughter and it is not easy for her to play with, she has a hard time moving it around. My daughter (16 months old) got this newborn for Christmas, and oh my she barely puts it down. Its the perfect size for her to carry around, pretend to feed, and gives it hugs and kisses, its so cute. The doll comes with a baby bottle, the cute cabbage leaf swaddler and then a little onesie that is either pink or blue and the diaper is either pink or blue depends on if the doll is a boy or girl, also the birth certificate, we ended up with a little boy, but since its a baby doll we are pretending its a girl. She is too little to enjoy the "surprise" factor. So I have purchased some generic clothes for the doll from target and also am making some clothes for it. She enjoys the doll having different clothes, and it can get ready for bed or get dressed for the day just like her.

Now for durability I didn't give it full marks because some of the thread holding the dolls shape has come out, easy fix, but its not holding up to the abuse of a toddler, she also dropped the doll out of her wagon and its scuffed its nose on the pavement. (we usually keep her toys tethered to the belt strap so she can't get excited and throw her toys, and we learned our lesson by not doing so for the doll) The body is also fabric, so the velcro of the outfits that my daughter likes to undue and try to fasten back is catching on the doll's back and is balling up the fabric. The tread is easy to fix, the balling easy to clean up, the nose she will just have to live with a scratched nose. Over all I recommend this product, its great fun. My daughter loves it so much.

This is a cute doll. We actually purchased this to give to our son when his baby sister arrived, so he would have his "own" baby. It worked. He enjoyed feeding it, changing it, and putting its clothes on. He lost interest quickly, but at least it helped ease the transition of a new sibling. He was only 2 at the time.
