My granddaughter just turned five and while she loves the baby doll she received for Christmas last year, she has a growing interest in "big girl" dolls such as her cousin's American Girl doll. I purchased a doll to be her gift next Christmas and am starting to collect clothing and furniture to go with it. Brand name items can be beyond my budget so while the term "factory second" concerned me, the affordable price and Amazon's return policy convinced me to take a chance on this reasonably priced trunk. I am so glad I did! Its quality construction insures long life and safe playtime for my granddaughter and it is durable enough to withstand the "interest" of her rough-and-tumble little brother. I consider this a "find" rather than a purchase.

I am so glad this trunk is still available! I originally purchased two of them in the mid 90s when this design was available from Target as an affordable, sturdy-looking, spacious storage solution for my own two American Girl dolls. The reasons I feel this is THE BEST trunk out there for girl dolls are many: there is a spacious rack to store dresses, sideways, on hangers, which means that a lot of clothes fit in there without getting squashed. The two drawers are perfect for shoes, socks, tights, shorts, little accessories, and have quite a bit of space in them. The doll has her own half of the case and is not mashed in with clothing, and once the case is closed, her face and hair sit in the clothing she is facing which serves as padding and keeps her face perfect. There is a lot of room around the doll for accessories, small furniture, boots and larger clothing pieces, so you can really fit a LOT in this case. Durability: I was a little concerned when I bought them that the unlined wood might bleed over time, but I have now had my dolls living in these cases for nearly 15 years and they look as good as new. The cases have stood the test of time better than most of MY furniture -four post-college moves, three cross-country moves, two children of my own later, and these cases STILL look beautiful and are in perfect shape. I can stand up the case, open, for my children to play with the doll and it serves as an excellent piece of play furniture as well. Recommended, highly, for anyone who wants to keep a doll and her many little things together and safe for many years to come.

I HAVE ORDERED TWO OF THESE AND HAVE BEEN WELL PLEASED WITH BOTH TRUNKS.

THE FIRST ONE I BOUGHT, WHICH IS NOT A 2ND, HAD A HANDLE COME LOOSE. A LITTLE SUPER GLUE AND HAVEN'T HAD A PROBLEM SINCE.

I COLLECT TONNER DOLLS. THESE GIRLS HAVE TONS OF CLOTHES. SOME I HAVE STORED IN DECORATIVE BOXES, BUT THE REALLY NICE GOWNS NEED TO BE HUNG, NOT LAID IN A BOX. I'M GETTING THIS TRUNK TO STORE SOME OF THE FULL LENGTH FUR COATS..AND I MEAN REAL FUR..FOR TYLER, SYDNEY AND ANTOINETTE. YOU MAY NOT RECOGNIZE ANY OF THESE NAMES, BUT IF YOU WANT TO SEE THEM, JUST TYPE IN TONNERDIRECT AND CHECK IT OUT.

I HAVE ABOUT 40 DOLLS, SO I NEED ALL OF THE STORAGE SPACE I CAN GET.

I LOVE THESE TRUNKS BECAUSE YOU CAN STORE SO MANY THINGS IN THEM. THEY HAVE 2 SMALL DRAWERS ON THE LEFT SIDE AND YOU CAN PUT LINGERIE AND WHAT EVER STRIKES YOUR FANCY IN THEM.

I LIKE TO GET THE 2NDS BECAUSE IT USUALLY HAS A SCRATCH THAT CAN BE EASILY FIXED WITH A LITTLE STAIN OR STAIN PEN. BESIDES THAT, THEY THEY'RE LESS EXPENSIVE.

I MAY GET ANOTHER.

Love The Queen's Treasures! Got this trunk for my daughter for Christmas and it is just beautiful. Had a minor issue with the metal corner edging either not being being attached or falling off easily but The Queen's Treasures took care of it right away. Excellent customer service and beautiful trunk. Love the old fashioned design.
