Before my kindergartner discovered Zoobles (and she loves them), she liked collecting Squinkies, though the fascination for Squinkies was short-lived. They appear cute, and if one were to just collect these tiny little figures (which are made of some sort of soft bendable plastic, giving a squishy feel to them), then I suppose they are great (as collectables). They are not really as fun to play with being so tiny, they are easily misplaced, and trying to collect them all (in all their squishiness) and putting them away someplace safe can be a bit trying. They are very small, the size of an adult's thumb, and can pose a serious choking hazard to very young children (under four) so households that have young children need to be extra vigilant or not have them around at all. The playsets that complement these squinkies appear rather flimsy and did not hold much appeal for my daughter. This particular Palace Surprise seems great if one was merely going to use it to display the squinkies, but given the small size of the toys, my daughter found it tedious to place them one by one on the stand, and I've since used a crafts storage box (with handle) to store them. Other toys we collect such as Zoobles and Littlest Pet Shop are magnetic so keeping them positioned on their display stands is easy and convenient. As for the squinkies themselves, they now lie in nooks and crannies all over our house and are doomed to be sucked by my vacuum cleaner and consigned to a dusty grave.

Our daughter is 22 months old. We bought a small pack of Squinkies in the store and she loved playing with them so much, we had to buy more. She has had SO much fun playing with her Squinkies! She tells us what each Squinky is, what color it is. She sorts them, lines them up, lays them down for night-night. So cute! She is not interested in the small plastic bubbles they came in, so we had Squinkies all over the place. We bought this display holder yesterday and it is perfect for holding her Squinkies when they aren't being played with. She and I had lots of fun playing together putting the Squinkies on and off the pegs on the display. If you have Squinkies, I recommend this Palace Surprise to keep them displayed and organized.

I purchased this today to hold the myriad Squinkies my little girl got from Santa (over 100 in all, I bought very early and only at retail price). We both love this item. I find it to be very sturdy, and it holds the little Squinkies well. I rated this item high on educational value, since my daughter (7 year old) has been playing for the past hour categorizing and re-categorizing the Squinkies on the display pegs. Plus, it keeps them all in one place and has a little handle on top for easy carrying. The little shelves swivel out so that it can be made to be a pleasing display for her dresser. The biggest reason I like this is because it will ensure that the Squinkies won't be put into a shoebox and forgotten about. In my opinion, for $20, you really can't go wrong.
