I can't imagine why this doll is priced at over $70. I believe this is a ToysRUs "store" brand and it is sold there for $32.99. THE PROS: The doll is reasonably priced compared to the American Girl dolls for over $100. The face is prettier than the AG doll with those odd buck teeth. There's an okay selection of outfits and accessories, although you'll probably have to travel to more than one store to find them. They're not that easy to find online, even on the store website. THE CONS: 1: The eyes don't close. My niece received this doll yesterday for her birthday, along with a canopy bed. She noticed immediately that the eyes didn't close, and it was a big deal. Her 2 1/2-year-old sister has a smaller doll whose eyes do close, and this was a subject of much discussion as the girls were trying to put the dolls to bed. If I had it to do over, I would not buy this doll because of this issue and also because of issue #2: This doll is difficult to pose. You'll probably want the wire doll stand, otherwise it's hard to brush her hair. (She has a lot of it, and it's thick, but because of the way it's "plugged," there are bald spots. Also, it tangles easily.) When she's put in a sitting position, the legs are splayed out wide and she tips over, unless you swivel the arms back so they balance her. This is kind of a big negative because my niece wants to "sit" her on the floor or in a chair, and it's difficult enough to be a big frustration.

This is a beautiful doll. Her eyes are hazel and her hair is brown with a hint of red. This brand doll is very similar in size and beauty to the American Girl dolls but without the big price tag!! I bought this doll for $29.99 and she came with a FREE outfit of my choice besides the one she wears when you purchase her. I got mine at Toys R Us.

I bought the Winter Edition Kelsey. Overall, I am very pleased. She is very beautiful. I love her auburn hair and the pale green eyes. The eyes have thick eyelashes. The doll has a vinyl head, arms, and legs. The vinyl part of the head extends to the chest area, and then the rest of the torso is cloth. She moves like an old fashion baby doll: head goes side to side (or goes around like an Exorcist thing), arms and legs go up and down. When she sits down, her legs are sprawled wide open. She doesn't bend at the joints.

The clothes on the Winter Edition are very well made. I love the moccasin boots!

My only complaint is with her hair. It is beautiful and is in a layered cut. However, the way it is styled gives the doll a bald spot. This isn't a big deal, since you can comb over it. What bothers me more is that her hair is prone to snarling, even when she is new. I don't know whether it is the type of hair it is (you often have problems when doll wigs come in other colors besides black) or the product they put in it. She already had a snarl when I took her out of the box.

However, I do love the doll and am glad to have her. For a child, the hair will probably last as long as your child's interest in it (though you may want to discourage having the doll's hair get washed or the doll having a bath). As a collector, I do expect that the hair may be a problem in the future.
