I bought this doll and Teresa from the same line. I'm actually kind of disappointed with Barbie. Her hair was poorly rooted and poorly cut when I first got her. I think I finally got the shedding under control, and I restyled the hair (I cut off at least half an inch in the process). I bought the doll to practice styling doll hair, removing make up, and painting make up. So her detailed feet and hands have been pretty useful to me. However, I know parents will probably buy this doll of their children, so I'll list the pros and cons of this doll.

Pros:

1) It's a cheap doll.

If you're looking for a cheap child's toy (or a basic doll for OOAK), this is a good doll.

2) She has detailed feet.

I think that's really cool. She has defined toes and toenails (and fingernails). It's possible to paint her nails, so that could encourage creativity in your children.

3) She has a realistic figure.

I know a lot of people who might appreciate this one. Her figure is much more realistic than others under the Barbie brand.

Cons:

1) The hair is poorly rooted.

I've seen some shoddy rooting jobs on generic dolls (like obvious bald spots), but this was just awful. Her hair just wouldn't stop coming out of her head, and at two points, twenty or thirty strands came out at once. It seemed like most of the hair just wasn't rooted properly, like there was nothing holding it in place. For the purposes of OOAK jobs, you will have to reroot the hair, and as a child's toy, your child might be disappointed by the shedding.

2) The hair is poorly cut.

The layers weren't even, and there were wild strands everywhere. Be prepared to pull out the scissors on this one.

3) The feet are not standard size.

This is a con for people who might want to play dress up with her. Mattel doesn't really make shoes for this doll. It seems like no play-line doll has shoes in her size. She doesn't even fit LIV shoes (as her feet are 30mm, and the LIV girls' shoes are 25mm), and if you are desperate, you'll end up spending at least twice what the doll's worth to get shoes that fit. That's a pretty steep investment for one doll, no matter what you're using the doll for.

4) Her clothes don't fit her!

This is a huge one. Moving the legs in the slightest way cause the shorts to come undone in the back. Not to mention, the stitching is awful (I put her in a sitting position, and the stitching came loose). The shorts are difficult to remove and put on, and they feel like plastic. The top just barely covers her breasts (because it's also too small), and its design makes it difficult to remove and put on. She kind of fits into standard Barbie skirts and shirts, but they are a little snug.

Bottom line: This doll is okay, for its price. You get what you pay for.

I gave it 3 stars, only in case I'm wrong about this doll. I bought 2 of the Beach Party Barbies and their feet are very large, flat and way too big for Barbie shoes. The picture above looks like the same feet as the Beach Party line of Barbie...so just be careful.Barbie Beach Party Doll

I bought this barbie for my daughter and as other reviews have mentioned, her feet are larger than the normal barbie and flat which doesn't work too well for barbie shoes. Overall both my daughter and I like the doll, but it's challenging trying to explain to a 3 year old the shoes just won't fit.
