Problems with the product:
The gold hardware arrived broken
One of the screws supplied to adhere the hinge connecting the lid with the chest broke the screw head came detached upon screwing it in place. Couldn't remove the screw and therefore couldn't assemble the product.
SAFETY ISSUE: The hinge that comes with this product has two very sharp points on which a child could easily be injured. They are sharp enough to scratch a child's skin, probably not puncture it but it's hard to tell since my rough adult skin would obviously not be an accurate gauge. The manufacturer provides a felt sticker with adhesive on it that the instructions show one should use (they call it a cotton cushion,) I am assuming, to cover these points which would obviously not prevent injury since all a child would have to do would be to remove the sticker.I was surprised that I had to assemble the chest, LOL. It is very nice. After putting it together my only wish is that they offer a bigger size chest like it for toys. I would buy it.
