I started collecting the Holiday Barbie when I had my first daughter in 2005. I've bought one every year since. This doll is beautiful. Mattel is doing a great job in capturing the features of an African-American woman without exaggerating them.

This is a beautiful African-American doll to display or for a young girl to play with. I do not know how durable she is because she was bought as a display doll. However, there are few ethnic dolls with such lovely features and this doll represents beauty and class. It is important for children to see beauty in all races and a doll like this Barbie is wonderful to promote positive self-images in African-American children.
