Little Mermaid, or "M", is by far my favorite from Sk Victory's new doll line "Fairy Tale High". She's based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale character "The Little Mermaid" from the fairytale of the same name(1837).
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of her body and articulation. Her body is similar to Jakk's Winx doll line but a little thicker and therefore more healthy looking.She has 11 points of articulation and thus is able to be posed in a variety of ways. Aesthetically, her body is really nice and a welcome change from other dolls in the market. She has a nice, thicker, more healthy looking body, particularly her torso. Her legs are a little thin but not too bad and don't look out of proportion. Had her legs been a little thicker, however, I think she'd look a little more well proportioned and balanced.
Her hair is nice though not a big fan of the red highlights but I appreciate how her hair is a more natural ginger. She has lovely green eyeshadow and a pretty shade of red lipstick. One of the weaker parts of this doll line is the face-mold/eye design. They're not very attractive, they're cute but could have been made a lot prettier had they made prettier, more detailed eyes.
Her outfit on the other hand is nicely detailed and really fun. The top especially is really pretty, particularly the little shell accent. The scale pattern on the skirt is gorgeous.The only negative is I wish they would have made her in her mermaid form. The purple scale pattern is really nice and I could just imagine how beautiful she would be in her fish tail. Another thing that I wish was a bit different is her color scheme, it's the same colors as Disney's adaptation of Andersen's character.
Overall a great first effort from SK Victory. This line has a lot of potential and I look forward to future incarnations of this line ( M in her mermaid form is a MUST!)
