This is a review of how Amazon handled the toy packaging, not the toy.
We bought this to give as a gift, and were dismayed when we opened the package from Amazon, and the internal packaging for the doll (not the shipping box) was bent in several places, and was held together by several pieces of tape. Obviously the package had been opened and returned, but with the birthday party the next day, we had no choice but to re-tape it (it was done really sloppily), and apologize to the parents of the child receiving the gift, explaining the embarrassing situation.
This would have been palatable except for the fact that we were giving it personally as a gift, and there is no way to tell Amazon about this except to return it, which we obviously are not in a position to do. Very frustrating, so we're making sure others who want to purchase one of the last 8 remaining (as of this writing) very nice ballerina dolls will understand the risk of ordering this product from Amazon.
Just in case it wasn't explicit: We ordered this product new from Amazon, not one of the other sellers in the Amazon Marketplace. Amazon, if you read this, please rectify the situation with an apology or gift card or something.
